BOZEMAN, MONTANA – SEPTEMBER 2011: The Montana State University football team first took the field in 1897 and has remained a worthy vessel of school pride ever since. The Bobcats have won numerous NCAA titles and are the current champions of the Big Sky Conference. With capacity crowds squeezing into the 12,000-seat Bobcat Stadium in recent seasons, the school funded a plan to dramatically upgrade the facility. The upgrade added 5,200 seats, a sophisticated new scoreboard, and an audio system that may provide a glimpse into the future of stadium sound reinforcement. The system centers on Danley Sound Labs’ revolutionary Jericho Horn JH-90, which throws “near-field quality” audio up to four-hundred feet from its position more

BUENA PARK, Calif.—New York University’s Jack H. Skirball Center for the Performing Arts is the premier venue for the presentation of cultural and performing arts events for all of NYU and lower Manhattan. Since opening in 2003, the 860-seat Skirball Center has been an educational and community building resource, providing NYU’s first large-scale, professional performance space on campus.

Recently the Skirball Center replaced its older analog front of house console with a Yamaha PM5D digital audio console purchased from Scharff Weisberg. “About once a month a client would have to rent a digital board, and it was almost always a Yamaha PM5D,? states Ethan Bade, head audio engineer. “Our purchasing decision was made pretty clear after speaking with engineers who had brought in various consoles in the past, that a 5D would eliminate additional rental costs and save on set up time.?

SYMETRIX ARC-WEB TECHNOLOGY ALLOWS THE SOUND SYSTEM AT ST. JOAN OF ARC’S CATHOLIC CHURCH TO BE CONTROLLED FROM THE PULPIT ON AN ANDROID

st_joan_arc_church.JPG

BLYTHE, CALIFORNIA – AUGUST 2011: Just paces from the Arizona border in Blythe, California, St. Joan of Arc is not your average Catholic church. Father Henri Licznerski stays ahead of the technological curve, as evidenced by the church’s video system with three screens, several pan/tilt/zoom remote control cameras, and a digital video recording system. The recent addition of several hot condenser mics for the choir with accompanying monitors left the church exposed to a substantial feedback risk, and its multiple mixer locations invited busy fingers – however well-intentioned – to really mess things up. Licznerski called on San Bernardino’s Enko Systems, Inc. to provide a solution. In keeping with St. Joan of Arc’s embrace of technology, Enko’s Dave Chitty installed two Symetrix Jupiter 12 app-based processors and provided control from Licznerski’s Android smartphone via Symetrix’ ground-breaking ARC-WEB technology.

“They previously had no auto mixing at all,” said Chitty. “And more

During the recent Rob Zombie/Slayer tour, system engineer, Andrew Dowling used Metric Halo’s SpectraFoo to tune the PA.

HOPEWELL JUNCTION, NEW YORK – AUGUST 2011: Andrew Dowling is charged with an impressive task: make a FOH mix translate to every seat in any random venue. He frequently works for twenty-time Grammy winner and country legend Vince Gill, but Dowling applies his in-demand skills for bands from radically divergent genres as well. For instance, he will be traveling with metal icons Rob Zombie and Slayer on a twelve-stop tour that mix festival PA systems with a hand-picked Adamson system for headlining shows. To get signals in reliably and to analyze them powerfully, Dowling calls on a Metric Halo ULN-8 interface paired with Metric Halo’s SpectraFoo Complete analysis software.

Dowling originally became acquainted with Metric Halo through a more
