DIGITAL PROJECTION PUBLISHES TRUE COST OF PROJECTOR OWNERSHIP CALCULATOR

ATLANTA, GA (August 11, 2009) – Digital Projection International (DPI), an Emmy® Award-winning manufacturer of high-performance projection systems, has created a fully-automated cost of ownership calculator for the AV industry. The calculator fulfills numerous requests from AV integrators in both Commercial AV and Home Cinema channels. The defining article and cost of ownership calculator can be viewed on Digital Projection’s website by visiting http://www.digitalprojection.com/efficiency.

Given the current economic climate, purchase decisions need to be based not just on the initial purchase price of the product, but also on the long-term cost of ownership, as the combination of the two defines the actual cost of owning and operating any product. The cost of ownership calculator acts as a simplified, comprehensive tool, taking into consideration the following data: initial purchase price, lamp replacements, scheduled maintenance, miscellaneous consumables and cost of power.

DK-Technologies Launches A Remote For Its Award Winning PT0760M HD/SD Multi-Channel Video Waveform Monitor

DK-Technologies will be attending this year’s IBC Convention with an exciting new addition to its award winning PT0760M HD/SD Multi-channel Video Waveform Monitor.

The PT0760-R is a remote unit that allows engineers to access the facilities of the PT0760M from an entirely different location. With this unit in place, an engineer on location can see exactly the same audio and video display as the engineer in the Master Control Room. Engineers using the remote can independently access all the facilities of the PT0760M without interrupting the use at the master location.

DK’s new remote offers the same high quality display as the PT0760M and gives users access to a set of soft keys that replicate those on the main unit. Both the PT0760M and the PT0760-R display can be independently controlled, allowing for either identical or individual display of video and/or audio signals at both locations.

This summer, London-based sound engineer Harry Bishop has enjoyed tremendous success providing live audio systems for a variety of festivals in England, including the One Taste festival in Hyde Park and several festivals in association with Chai Wallahs, an organization dedicated to providing an eclectic blend of high-quality musical acts, coupled with an emphasis on healthy alternative lifestyles. At the heart of Bishop’s success is the Soundcraft Vi6™ console, which has helped him confidently make the conversion from analogue to digital during the hectic festival season.

At the One Taste festival, Bishop deployed Soundcraft Vi6 consoles at the front of house and monitor positions. “We decided to use them in part to compare them to their analogue counterparts in terms of operation and sound quality,? Bishop says.

Bishop used the board as he would have an analogue system and worked off a generic ‘festival patch.’ According to more

Crown I-Tech HD Hits the Big Screen To Power Marcus Theatres® UltraScreen® At North Shore Cinemas

In a unique fixed installation where high performing sound systems are critical, North Shore Cinemas, a Marcus Theatres® Cinema in Mequon, Wisconsin has chosen Crown I-Tech HD amplifiers to power its UltraScreen® theaters. The theater is the first to deploy I-Tech HD to power its audio systems.

Mark Collins, Director of Projection Technology for Marcus Theatres, explained the decision to go with I-Tech HD’s for this environment was a logical choice. “I know that a lot of the technology in the amplifier was built with the tour sound market in mind. However, I think this type of application is even more demanding than having the equipment on the road because the amplifiers are constantly running. For cinemas you need power and reliability. These amps give us a ton of headroom and with Crown you know you are getting a great product,? said Collins.
