Tributaries Showcase Series 6 Power Cable—The Critical Finishing Touch

Orlando, FL—Tributaries will showcase the new Series 6 Power Cable, the critical finishing touch for any system, in booth 1148 at the 2014 CEDIA Expo. Engineered exclusively for Tributaries by celebrated cable designer, Jay Victor, the Series 6 Power Cables, model 6P, will provide superior audio and video performance.

Tributaries Series 6 Power Cord

The Tributaries 6P cables are available in two versions; a 3-pole version, 6P-IEC for preamps and power amps and a 2-pole version, 6P-C7 for DVD players, CD players and set-top boxes.

Engineered with 14 gauge OFHC copper conductors, the Series 6 Power cables won’t starve power amplifiers of current. These cables are designed primarily for low frequency signals of 50/60Hz with conductor size and gauge combinations specific for this purpose. PVC dielectric materials were chosen to isolate vibration caused by alternating current from entering the signal path.

“For power cables, noise rejection is critical, and our Series 6 power cables rely on proprietary winding techniques and triple shielding to limit EMI egress and ingress thus ensuring the lowest noise floor for sensitive source components,” said Joe Perfito, President of Tributaries. “We strongly encourage dealers to include the Series 6 Power Cord as a regular add-on—hearing is believing, and we guarantee it provides an audible improvement.”

The Series 6 Power cables are available now in the following lengths: 3 foot (MSRP: $100), 6 foot (MSRP: $125) and 9 foot (MSRP: $150).

ICE Cable Systems Invests in the Latest REELEX Cable Coiling Machine

Newer technology features the latest optimizations in both hardware and software, and is customized for ICE Cable Systems’ products, making this premium wire & cable brand’s Big Mouth Payout bulk wire dispenser even better

Example of REELEX II wind pattern and dispenser Los Angeles, CA – August 25, 2014 – ICE Cable Systems, a leading manufacturer of premium low-voltage wire and cable products, today announced that it has invested in a new REELEX coiling machine for its factory.

REELEX’s tangle-free technology is a patented method of winding wire and cable into a figure-eight coil. In optimizing each coil, factors such as gain, payout hole control and the density of the wind, along with progressive coil tension, are all instrumental to producing tangle-free packages. This unique coil can only be produced on a specially-designed and patented REELEX machine and accompanying customized software.

The REELEX II coil within the bulk wire carton does not rotate during payout, nor does any inertia take place. Void of any moving parts, the coil dispenses from the inside-out with a clear path and avoids the typical twists, tangles and snags that plague bulk wire cartons.

The REELEX II technology is a key element in ICE Cable Systems Big Mouth Payout bulk wire carton, that along with other conveniences such as ascending and descending foot markers on the cable jackets, and extremely durable 24 kilogram burst-tested cardboard with dual-layer handles, have made it very popular among installers.

“We’ve taken something good and made it even better,” says ICE Cable Systems President Brian Rizzo. “We’ve invested in a machine that represents the state-of-the-art in wire and cable technology and custom-configured it for our cables. The net result for our dealers will be perfect pulls, from the first foot to the last.”

Timothy Copp, Vice President of REELEX notes, “Installers need to know there is knock-off pull-box packaging out there. Non-REELEX coils might look and act like REELEX, but are prone to tangling, cable deformities, and can cause damage to the cable – leading to performance issues.”

EAI Brings Martin Audio MLA To Singapore

As its global reputation continues to accelerate, the penetration of Martin Audio’s award-winning MLA multi-cellular loudspeaker into new territories increases unabated.

This is no better illustrated than in the Far East, where Singapore-based EXPO AV-INSYNC PTE (EAI) has just significantly boosted an inventory that also includes a Martin Audio W8LM Mini Line Array by purchasing the country’s first MLA System 36 from local distributors Swee Lee.

EAI Managing Director, Gerard Rodrigues, said he was proud to be the country’s first investor in the groundbreaking system. Speaking of the acquisition, he said, “We wanted a larger format, steerable array system to add on to our inventory and it needed to represent a significant upgrade. The other main reason is that the next four upcoming gigs are all rider specific.”

He says the latest purchase continues a rich legacy that began with the older Martin Audio Wavefront W3/WS2 range. “We wanted to be the first company to own MLA, but in any case, after a year’s worth of research for a new line array, this system came out top in terms of sound quality, output, ease of use and what engineers wanted most.”

EAI had first heard about the MLA system back in late 2012. “We deliberated this to ensure we had concert and corporate clients who would love it and specify it for their events. And although we had not heard it live at the time, I can’t remember the last time Martin Audio built a bad box, whether loudspeakers or line arrays.”

Rodrigues and his Technical Director Desmond Zuzarte quickly discovered that MLA’s ease of use, the output it delivers from just a 12” enclosure, and the steerability and tailored control for each different venue made this a unique proposition.

“Chris Pyne, [Martin Audio APAC Technical & Training Support] gave us the added assurance that of the three brands we were reviewing this was by far the best. We then met Simon Bull (Martin Audio Director of Sales) and Andy Duffield (APAC Account Manager) — and the rest was history.”

After intensive training in late July, hosted by their venue partners Singapore Expo & Max Atria and conducted by Pyne, the system will debut later this summer at the Singapore Expo Hall 1 in front of 6,000 people for a talent show.

Summing up, Rodrigues, says, “Our sound engineers are just very excited about this acquisition. From a sales point of view, the MLA speaks for itself. Aside from its output, the other big advantage is its weight — here in Singapore, we needed a system that could deliver huge sound output, while maintaining a certain weight load restriction in many venues.

“Looking at how the system is selling in Japan alone, it is a choice of all concert organizers and technical directors for large scale events.”

Gerard Rodrigues says he is looking forward with relish to promoting MLA as the first system in Singapore and will be inviting key clients and concert organizers to hear it.

Meanwhile, the adventure is just beginning as EAI are already in talks with Swee Lee about adding an MLA Compact system.

RapcoHorizon Joins the “Soundtrack of Summer Tour” with Foreigner, Styx and Don Felder

Engineers for All Three Acts Rely on Custom RoadHog and SilverHog Cables and Connectors for Legendary U.S. Concert Series

JACKSON, MO, AUGUST 13, 2014 – RapcoHorizon, an RHC Holdings brand and leading manufacturer of audio/video interfacing and cable equipment, has once again hit the road for another legendary tour. Custom runs of the company’s RoadHog and SilverHog touring cables are serving a variety of needs for the “Soundtrack of Summer Tour,” featuring Foreigner, Styx and special guest Don Felder of the Eagles.

As the group began to prepare for this highly anticipated tour, Lorenzo Banda, monitor engineer for Foreigner and a long-time RapcoHorizon fan, recommended the cables to the Styx and Felder audio teams. Though Foreigner and Styx are co-headliners and Felder is the opening act, each band required its own unique cabling requirements. For Foreigner and Felder, they exclusively are relying on RapcoHorizon – from instruments to speakers – all arranged in custom runs, while the engineers for Styx created their own runs using several of the company’s cables and connectors.

“We started using RapcoHorizon a while back, when the SilverHog cables first came out, and have used them for every performance since,” says Banda. “When the time came for us to plan the Soundtrack of Summer Tour, I knew the cables would be a perfect fit for Styx and Don Felder. When we met up for a gig at Fox News’ Fox & Friends in New York to promote the tour, I introduced the guys to some of their products.”

The stage design for this tour is complex since each group has its own setup, including lasers and special effects for Foreigner, large video walls for Styx and Felder opening each show by descending onto the arena. “Don is completely on board with the cables,” says Banda. “His engineers love it. Their whole stage setup is now using RapcoHorizon, and I think his studio is even starting to fill out with the cables as well. As for Styx, they’re also really stoked about the quality and sound of the cables.”

All RapcoHorizon cables are designed for the working musician. The custom instrument and speaker cables are road-ready and tour tough, employing the most rugged constructions without sacrificing sound quality. The SilverHog cables offer the bands the same durability for which RapcoHorizon is known, but with an even more enhanced sound range.

“I noticed the high-end definition and fidelity on these cables, as it’s much more pristine than others I have heard,” says Banda. “I use a lot of RapcoHorizon’s twisted pair cables, which have great resistance and a high-quality sound. I don’t know all the technical nuances that go into making the cables, but I can definitely hear the difference.”

By the time the tour concludes this September, the RapcoHorizon cables will have made more than 50 stops across the country. “All of the cables have been really slamming and durable,” adds Banda. “We have backups and redundancies, just in case, but we haven’t needed to use them. Sound is our first priority and to have that kind of quality product behind us is one less thing that we have to worry about.”

Banda credits RHC Holdings and RapcoHorizon as being among the best audio companies in the industry with which to work. “Everyone at RapcoHorizon bent over backwards to make sure all of the bands received what they needed in a timely manner,” he says. “They always make us feel like we’re their number one priority and take care of us immediately. They care about us 100 percent whole-heartedly. We’ve worked with other cable companies and you can’t get that level of customer service with anyone else; it really makes a difference.”

RHC Holdings, located in Jackson, Missouri, is one of the world’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of audio, video, home theater, data and telecommunications interfacing products. Comprising RapcoHorizon, Momentum, Pro Co, Pro Co Data, RAT, RoadHog and StageMASTER, each RHC Holdings brand has developed a reputation in many industries for reliability, and superior sound performance. Used worldwide by concert touring sound companies, video and sound contractors, recording studios, system integrators, audiophiles and musicians, the company’s products provide optimal flexibility and premium performance. RHC Holdings also has a state-of-the-art Custom Shop to modify existing products or build new devices to meet any need.
