Logic Systems Deploys JBL SRX Subwoofers For Regional Entertainment Events

Logic Systems Sound and Lighting, a 20-year-old audio/video production company based in Valley Park, Missouri, continues to deploy JBL SRX728 subwoofers for events ranging from live concerts to presidential rallies across the Midwest. With a large arsenal of the subwoofers, owner Chip Self and his staff not only provide superior sound to the rental firm’s events, but also highlight the SRX728’s capabilities during local subwoofer technology workshops.

In his search for a subwoofer to replace his older, previous units, Self hoped to upgrade with a reliable, lightweight and durable loudspeaker that could be used for any venue or event. As an authorized JBL repair facility as well, Self had ever only seen one JBL SRX728 unit in for repair, which was ultimately how he was able to test it.

“The customer’s SRX728 impressed us because it was the first one we had ever seen come into our more

The expanding Colombo Group, headed by former fabric head of promotion Steve Ball and Riz Shaikh, recently added its first live/dance club to a portfolio of London bars and gastro-pubs.

Occupying the site of the former Bardens Boudoir in Dalston, East London, is The Nest, where technology specialists Middlesex Sound & Light (MSL) were tasked with designing a flexible sound system around Martin Audio components.

Steve Ball and Matt Monhardt, general manager of the 300-capacity venue, had specifically requested Martin Audio. “Martin Audio is the best sound system we’ve heard in club situations,? he said. “We told Middlesex Sound & Light that we wanted Martin Audio loudspeakers and amplifiers because the impact and precision are so much better.

“We also wanted flexible zoning, allowing as much bass as possible on the tiny dance floor, while at the same time enabling the music level to be adjusted at more

DJ Swivel On The Lexicon® PCM Native Reverb Plug-In Bundle: “The Lexicon PCM suite is the only plug-in reverb I can put up against a $20,000 hardware reverb – and it’ll hold its own.?

DJ Swivel is a mixer, engineer, and producer who has worked with hip-hop, R&B and pop artists including Beyonce, Fabolous, Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Diddy, Britney Spears, Kanye West and others. He is also co-founder/co-owner of Silverbridge Media, a music publishing company for film and TV music.

DJ Swivel uses the Lexicon PCM Native Reverb Plug-In Bundle and prizes it for its sound quality and flexibility. “I’ve worked with the Lexicon 960L hardware reverb (no longer available) for several years, and was never able to find a plug-in reverb that I warmed up to. They always added a certain amount of brittleness to a vocal that I didn’t care for,? Swivel said. “It wasn’t until I listened to the PCM Native Reverb Plug-In Bundle that I felt confident in switching over to plug-in versions.?

“I mix almost exclusively in the box (on a computer), but until now I more

TMGTV operates Shop TV Canada, a 24-hour direct-response television channel, and TMGTV Productions, which produces infomercials both for Shop TV Canada and for external clients to run on other television stations. Sweden’s Anaview Invests In A Prism Sound dScope Series III Audio Analyzer

Anaview AB, a Swedish technology house that specialises in providing OEM electronics for the audio industry, is the latest European company to purchase a dScope Series III analogue and digital audio analyser from Prism Sound.

Anaview is using its dScope Series III for testing distortion, bandwidth, noise and multi-tone intermodulation products in the development of switch mode amplifiers. It’s an exacting task.

“Perceived sound quality is a very complex topic,? comments Anaview’s CEO Patrik Bostrom. “An amplifier that performs well on the typically presented graphs does not necessarily sound good. In order to find a way to methodically design a good sounding amplifier one has to have a measurement system where the input signal and the performed measurements can be fully controlled by the user. For example, the multi-tone modulation is more important than THD at one frequency. The ability afforded by dScope to design our own test more
