DJ Swivel On The Lexicon® PCM Native Reverb Plug-In Bundle: “The Lexicon PCM suite is the only plug-in reverb I can put up against a $20,000 hardware reverb – and it’ll hold its own.?

DJ Swivel is a mixer, engineer, and producer who has worked with hip-hop, R&B and pop artists including Beyonce, Fabolous, Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Diddy, Britney Spears, Kanye West and others. He is also co-founder/co-owner of Silverbridge Media, a music publishing company for film and TV music.

DJ Swivel uses the Lexicon PCM Native Reverb Plug-In Bundle and prizes it for its sound quality and flexibility. “I’ve worked with the Lexicon 960L hardware reverb (no longer available) for several years, and was never able to find a plug-in reverb that I warmed up to. They always added a certain amount of brittleness to a vocal that I didn’t care for,? Swivel said. “It wasn’t until I listened to the PCM Native Reverb Plug-In Bundle that I felt confident in switching over to plug-in versions.?

Digital Rapids C2 Streamlines Media Movement Between Facilities for Torstar Media Group Television

Digital Rapids’ versatile, multi-format encoding systems also critical to TMGTV operations

Digital Rapids LogoNovember 24, 2009 — Markham, Ontario: Digital Rapids – the leading provider of tools and solutions for bringing television, movie and Web content to wider audiences — announced today that direct-response television provider Torstar Media Group Television (TMGTV) has selected the Digital Rapids C2 media and data delivery software to enable fast, reliable delivery of media files between TMGTV’s facilities. TMGTV has also standardized on Digital Rapids encoding systems to encode and transform content for broadcast server compatibility and new multi-platform applications.

TMGTV operates Shop TV Canada, a 24-hour direct-response television channel, and TMGTV Productions, which produces infomercials both for Shop TV Canada and for external clients to run on other television stations. TMGTV uses C2 to move content quickly and reliably in its native file formats over an IP network between separate production and playout facilities located in neighboring cities. With the network also used for time-critical applications by newspaper reporters at TMGTV’s parent company, C2′s scheduling and rate control capabilities are also crucial for ensuring that TMGTV’s large media transfers don’t interfere with the bandwidth needed by other network users. more

Sweden’s Anaview Invests In A Prism Sound dScope Series III Audio Analyzer

Anaview AB, a Swedish technology house that specialises in providing OEM electronics for the audio industry, is the latest European company to purchase a dScope Series III analogue and digital audio analyser from Prism Sound.

Anaview is using its dScope Series III for testing distortion, bandwidth, noise and multi-tone intermodulation products in the development of switch mode amplifiers. It’s an exacting task.

“Perceived sound quality is a very complex topic,? comments Anaview’s CEO Patrik Bostrom. “An amplifier that performs well on the typically presented graphs does not necessarily sound good. In order to find a way to methodically design a good sounding amplifier one has to have a measurement system where the input signal and the performed measurements can be fully controlled by the user. For example, the multi-tone modulation is more important than THD at one frequency. The ability afforded by dScope to design our own test more

For more than ten years, NCSSM’s John Freidrick Educational Technology Complex (ETC) Auditorium has served as the school’s primary host venue for guest lecturers, theatrical productions and musical artists visiting the campus. When the ETC Auditorium’s original sound system was finally deemed to be inadequate for the 650-seat, single-balcony theater, the school called upon local integrator John Koelle of North State Sound to design and install a new system. more

The 13.6-metre truck supports up to 24 cameras and incorporates a VTR area, monitor stack, production area—and now a top specification audio mixing front end.

The new console was supplied by Audiopole to replace an old Studer D950—which was the first digital desk that SFP ever bought during their days as an independent. It is one of several Vista 9 consoles already supplied by Studer’s French distributor since its launch in June of this year.
