L-ACOUSTICS K1 installation in Indonesia’s Graha Bethany Nginden Church

SURABAYA, Indonesia — L-ACOUSTICS’ distributor in South East Asia, Sennheiser Electronic Asia, together with Indonesian partner Tri Tunggal Abadi have installed the first L-ACOUSTICS K1 system into a church in the region. The K1/KARA WST line source system has been installed into the Evangelist Graha Bethany Nginden Church located in Surabaya, along with products from almost all of L-ACOUSTICS’ ranges.

Headed up by Pastor Abraham Alex Tanuseputra, this is one of Indonesia’s largest churches, able to accommodate gatherings of 30,000 in one sitting. Yonsei Central Baptist Church’s huge Jerusalem sanctuary can accommodate 13,000 worshippers

SEOUL — South Korea’s Yonsei Central Baptist Church, distinguished as the first L-ACOUSTICS V-DOSC church installation in Asia, has now also become the first to install a K1 WST line source system.

Located in Seoul, the church is one of Asia’s most impressive houses of worship. The entire site occupies a total area of over 350,000 square feet and over 120 rooms, and is equipped with approximately 200 L-ACOUSTICS enclosures. The K1 system has been installed into the main Jerusalem sanctuary, a 13,000-seat, single-balcony hall occupying three floors and completely free of support pillars and other obstructions, allowing worshippers a clear view of the service. more

US Naval Academy Uses Advanced Ship’s Bridge Simulation Solutions to Train Naval and Marine Officers

The second upgrade of the projection systems for two ship’s bridge training simulators at the US Naval Academy (USNA) in Annapolis, Maryland was recently commissioned to assist underclassmen to learn ship’s navigation and safety on the high seas and in scores of harbors around the world. These USNA bridge simulators are built by Kongsberg Maritime Simulation Inc., which in turn relied on design and service support from Electric Picture Display Systems, Inc. of Melbourne, Florida and state-of-the-art simulation projectors from Christie Digital Systems USA, of Cypress, California.

The USS Storm’s projector was installed in late November 2010 and the simulator was used by more than 180 underclassmen per day in December 2010 alone. Local Installer, Middle Atlantic & Leading Brands Step Up For “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”

Salem, OR – When ABC’s popular “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition? decided to focus on the Oregon School for the Deaf, they brought in local contractors such as Chris Rasmussen and his team from Hear No Evil to rebuild the dormitory and the Haunted House called “Nightmare Factory? which is the school’s largest annual fundraising event. Appropriately, the show was set to be aired on Halloween night.

Designed in the 1950s, parts of the dorm were seismically unsafe and the Haunted House had safety problems as well. During the makeover, the students were flown to Minnesota to receive brand new state-of-the-art hearing devices and got a surprise visit from award-winning actress Marlee Matlin.

Equestrian School in Austria Hits Target with BSS® Audio Soundweb™ London Installation

In a unique and challenging audio project, BSS Audio was chosen for sound processing at the new Glock Horse Performance Center in the Austrian town of Treffen bei Villach, in Carinthia. The school, named after its sponsor, Austrian firearms manufacturing Gaston Glock, needed the capability to provide consistent audio coverage across the facility’s four riding halls. The installation was performed by Musik-Aktiv with the assistance of Harman Professional distributor Kain Audio.

The facility deploys four Soundweb London BLU-160 devices and four BLU-BOB 8-channel output expanders, placed on the Soundweb London fault-tolerant digital audio bus. The two mobile racks are configured identically and the digital audio bus audio channels can be connected at four different points. Feeding the BLU-BOB devices, source inputs include four wireless commentator microphones (with pre-programmed ducking function), and a small external Soundcraft® mixer.

In response to the new trends within the broadcast industry to control audio loudness, particularly between programmes and advertising commercials, Jünger Audio has announced that all of its Level Magic-based loudness control solutions are now fully compliant with all current Loudness recommendations.

In the US, broadcast loudness control became a legal requirement in December 2010 when President Barak Obama signed into law the Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation (CALM) Act. This new US law makes it illegal for commercials to be overly loud compared to the rest of the programming on a given channel. Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland is a state-of-the-art, 51,000-capacity facility for sports, concerts and special events. Its waveform-shaped architecture is striking in design, and houses four tiers of seating, with seven stories of floors and two basement levels. Aviva Stadium is the home of the Irish rugby union team and the Republic of Ireland national football team.

Audio for Aviva Stadium is provided by a massive JBL sound system that includes 105 Precision Directivity (PD) Series loudspeakers, augmented by Application Engineered (AE) Series AM6200/64 speakers. The system also includes Crown Audio amplifiers and BSS Soundweb London signal processing, connectivity and control products.
