Visual Surveillance Manufacturer IC Realtime Opens Doors for Integrators to Tap Many Vertical Markets via Verizon 4G LTE Network

Video Surveillance Products Leader IC Realtime Joins Verizon Partner Program

Joint national program opens doors for integrators to tap vertical markets by deploying
custom-tailored HD video surveillance systems transmitted via Verizon Wireless; represents great opportunities for integrators to create recurring monthly revenues

Pompano Beach, FL – May 1, 2013 – IC Realtime, a global leader in the design and manufacture of advanced visual surveillance solutions for residential, commercial, industrial, governmental and educational channels, today announced that it has joined the Verizon Partner program. The move is the first initiative by IC Realtime’s M2M (Machine-to-Machine) Advisors Group, a newly-formed division operating from within its Pompano Beach, Florida headquarters.

Under the program IC Realtime and Verizon Wireless Connected Technologies sales teams will work with qualified IC Realtime integration companies (classified by IC Realtime as its M2M Master Integrators) to develop and deploy custom-tailored HD video surveillance solutions via the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network.

According to IC Realtime’s M2M Advisor Group President Adam Cohen, the types of applications span residential, commercial and industrial to local, state and federal branches of government.

”The program helps integrators branch-out into emerging vertical markets such as remote autonomous solar-powered systems; video over cellular; cloud-based HD-video and data storage; remote M2M command and control, and internet and video redundancy,” says Cohen. “These powerful new offerings will allow them to sell services and build recurring monthly revenue streams previously deemed unobtainable or perhaps unforeseen.”

To help integrators seize the wide range of opportunities that exist, IC Realtime will aggregate talent from its consortium of integration companies, training them in Megapixel IP video over cellular networks, command and control over remote locations, autonomous solar systems, and wireless technology.

“Such a network of skilled connected technology experts can assist the business interests of manufacturers, service providers, integrators, and consumers of electronic physical security equipment,” adds Cohen. “We believe that our pool of M2M Master Integrators will be the catalyst for a global paradigm shift in how security is procured, installed and serviced.”

Useful for the venture will be Video iVAULT™, an M2M cloud-based platform that IC Realtime created to provide live video on demand, without the need for special software or complicated hardware solutions. This platform allows wireless cameras and recorders to send event video and alerts to the IC Realtime Cloud to be securely stored long-term via wireless networks. Additionally, this solution further reduces costs by limiting the amount of video storage devices needed to be deployed onsite.

IC Realtime has also created a failover option for its DVR / NVR systems solutions to monitor in real time, grant access, communicate, and secure environments via the Verizon network. This redundancy feature provides crucial backup when power and internet lines go down. According to Cohen, the failover option is yet another example of previously untapped revenue source for integrators.

Nest Learning Thermostat Now Available at AVAD

Custom electronics distributor offers thermostat that programs itself, saves energy.

Los Angeles, Calif. – April 22, 2013 – AVAD LLC, one of North America’s leading providers of custom electronics, has announced it now offers dealers access to the award-winning Nest® Learning Thermostat™ from Nest Labs. Compatible with 95 percent of low-voltage heating and cooling systems, the Nest Learning Thermostat remembers what temperatures homeowners like, creates a custom schedule for their home, and turns itself down when they are away.

The Nest Learning Thermostat is designed to address the reality of home energy consumption: that the thermostat controls about half of the average home’s power—more than appliances, lighting, TVs, computers and stereos combined. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that programmable thermostats can save home energy bills up to 20% annually by eliminating excessive heating or cooling. The Nest Learning Thermostat enables energy saving features that are specific to each customer by using sensors and software algorithms to monitor usage patterns and measure each home’s thermal profile.

“AVAD values the Nest mission of getting serious about saving people money by continually working to perfect home energy efficiency,” said Hugh Hughes, Director of Merchandising at AVAD. “We are expanding our home control and HVAC portfolio in an effort to expand the AVAD vision of Custom Install 2.0 that helps integrators stay ahead of the competition by bringing exciting, trending products to all of our customers.”

The Nest Learning Thermostat connects to Wi-Fi and can be controlled from anywhere using a smartphone or tablet. The Nest app is available for iOS and Android devices for free. Nest’s unique features can help save energy and keep customers comfortable. The device includes a host of proprietary features that are capable of managing heating and cooling units including gas, electric, oil, solar, hot water, geothermal, forced air, heat pump and radiant systems:

• Auto-Schedule™- No more programming hassles. Nest learns the temperatures you like and programs itself.
• Auto-Away™- Nest automatically turns itself to an energy-saving temp when you’re not home.
• Airwave™- Automatically turns off the AC a few minutes early, but keeps the fan running. The air stays cool but your AC runs up to 30% less.
• Energy History- See when heating and cooling were on and what affected your energy use.
• Nest Leaf- Appears when you turn Nest to a temperature that’s energy efficient, guiding you to energy savings.
• System Match™- Make sure you’re getting the most out of your high-efficiency system. System Match turns on specific features for forced air, heat pump or radiant to help you save and keep you comfortable.
• Remote Control- Connect Nest to Wi-Fi to change the temp or adjust your schedule from a smartphone, tablet or laptop.

IC Realtime Adds 20,000 Square Foot Integration Center to Florida Corporate Office

IC Realtime's Experience Center Showroom

Showroom demonstrates brand’s surveillance cameras, video recorders and Apps live, including integration into leading home automation, computer and mobile platforms; also new are a dedicated training center and a larger tech support facility

Pompano Beach, FL – March 28, 2013 – IC Realtime, a global leader in the design and manufacture of advanced visual surveillance solutions for residential and commercial applications — with US corporate headquarters in Pompano Beach, Florida and a satellite office in Goodyear, Arizona — today announced that it has expanded its Florida offices to accommodate a brand-new 20,000 square foot integration center. Now open and fully-operational, the center adds a state-of-the-art demonstration showroom, a dedicated training center and an expanded tech support / R&D lab.

The first thing visitors experience when they enter IC Realtime’s main corporate entrance is the fully-equipped showroom replete with individual workstations demonstrating the company’s many analog and IP cameras, DVRs, NVRs, Apps and accessories – all live, in action. Also in place are workstations that show IC Realtime’s products fully-integrated into RTI, Control4, Crestron and Savant environments.

In the middle of the showroom stands a display center equipped with all the mobile devices that the company supports including Kindle, Windows8, Android and Apple (both mobile and home) platforms.

Another focal point of the showroom is a demonstration of IC Realtime’s I-Sniper technology which illustrates how special sensors in the cameras capture images in detail both night and day, even under challenging mixed-lighting conditions. This “pixel-by-pixel” enhancement technology is created exclusively for IC Realtime by Pixim, Inc.

IC Realtime CEO Matt Sailor has opened the showroom to security and AV dealers interested in demonstrating the company’s solutions to their clientele. In addition, Sailor intends to fly-in dealers from around the US to experience the showroom and get better acquainted with IC Realtime.

IC Realtime’s sales and technical teams are also available to conduct demonstrations to dealers and their clientele. Standard showroom hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 6 PM. Special after-hours appointments can be made as well.

Annexed to the showroom is a brand-new training center that comfortably seats 40 people. Making for more interactive and robust training sessions, the facility incorporates digital whiteboards that communicate via Bluetooth. IC Realtime plans to offer educational classes throughout the year that earn participants 2 CEDIA University credits.

Also in place is a new-and-improved lab that IC Realtime uses for research and development and technical support. The lab is 4 times larger than the company’s previous lab and incorporates new testing areas for newly developed product, R&D equipment, and specialty projects. In total the company employs more than 30 people in the lab.

According to Sailor, the integration center cost IC Realtime more than $300,000 to build. “We’ve put our money where our mouth is here,” says Sailor. “The showroom is designed to show — not talk about — how our products truly integrate with these multiple platforms.”

The integration center is situated at IC Realtime’s US headquarters, located at 3050 North Andrews Ave Extension, Pompano Beach, FL 33064 – only minutes from Interstate I-95. Dealers interested in visiting should call 954.772.5327 or email info@icrealtime.com.

Later this year, IC Realtime plans to put in place a 10,000 square foot integration center in its Arizona office.

Display Development Moving On Up

Batavia, NY—March 2013—Display Development, innovator of the Residential Architectural Video System category, is thrilled to announce the expansion of their facility in Batavia, New York. The additional 4,000 square feet will accommodate manufacturing, light assembly, engineering, and distribution.

“We were very fortunate that the space adjacent to our current location became available,” said Jim Burns, president of Display Development. “Our business is exploding, and we needed to accommodate the demands of this growth. While it’s tempting in this real estate market to purchase space, we didn’t want to invest in something we may outgrow—it’s an exciting time for our company.”

Display Development recently introduced their IW7 and IW8 in-wall display systems, which offer extreme flexibility for an unprecedented value. The IW systems create a display solution far superior to a flat panel in terms of image size and fidelity, and overall experience, with no impact on a room’s décor—when not in use, the system can be completely concealed.

Display Development is located at 56 Harvester Ave, Batavia, New York, 14020. You can also find Display Development at Twitter (@DisplayDev) and on Facebook.

RackLink™ System Now Compliant with InfoComm Energy Management Standard

Fairfield, NJ–– With its latest firmware update, all models in Middle Atlantic Products’ suite of RackLink™ Power Management products now fully support InfoComm’s recently published Energy Management Standard. RackLink products provide integrators and facility managers with the necessary features and functionality to implement the standard. These include the monitoring and logging of power consumption, room occupancy and outlet state, as well as individual control of connected devices.

The standard, which provides a guideline for efficient energy management of AV systems through the control, monitoring, and conservation of electric power, was published in June of last year. RackLink models are currently the industry’s only available option to meet certain requirements of the standard such as power factor monitoring and providing a fine degree of resolution in their measurement accuracy.

Audiovisual control system solutions company Control Concepts partnered with Middle Atlantic to develop the RackLink system’s critical open-architecture communication with control systems. Control Concepts President Steve Greenblatt also served as a member of the InfoComm Energy Management Standard Task Group. He notes, “Middle Atlantic has shown a commitment to the InfoComm Energy Management standard from the onset of RackLinkTM product development ensuring that the design and control capabilities meet all the requirements in addition to including a host of added features. Middle Atlantic went as far as to upgrade firmware, software, and control modules once the standard was released to address specific nuances added prior to finalization.”

“RackLink was designed to enable the best possible practices in ensuring power-efficient AV systems,” said Bob Schluter, Middle Atlantic Founder and fellow member of the InfoComm Energy Management Standard Task Group. He also noted the ease with which the RackLink system complies with the standard: “All the required measurements are consolidated in one box, so there’s no need to mix data from separate places. RackLink systems also output that data in a useable format that requires no manipulation.”

For more information about the RackLink system and Middle Atlantic Products, please click to www.middleatlantic.com or call 1.800.266.7225.
