Main Light Introduces the LED-Powered LightStar Fiber Optic Illuminator

The Main Light LightStar LED-powered fiber optic illuminatorMain Light Industries, who manufacture and rent a wide variety of fiber optic-based products, introduces the LED-powered LightStar™ fiber optic illuminator, part of DiCon Lighting’s FiberLamp product line. LightStar uses an innovative LED light engine comprised of Red, Green, Blue, and White LEDs for a broad spectrum of color choices as well as reducing the power draw and weight. A key feature of the LED-powered LightStar is that it produces an output comparable to, or greater than, a fiber optic illuminator using a 150-watt metal halide light source. In a white color mix, the LightStar is equivalent to the 150-watt metal halide powered illuminators. By using an LED light engine there is no transmission loss with a color filter, so in deep, saturated colors, the LightStar has a greater output that is equivalent to 250-watt illuminators. more

Building soundproof rooms – Seal all your seams and gaps!

Acoustical Soundproofing Caulk

One-part, nonflammable, latex base acoustical caulk designed specially for the reduction of sound transmission in all types of wall partition systems.

Whether you are building music studios, conference rooms, offices or any space that requires sound privacy, using multiple layers of sheet rock, mass loaded vinyl barrier and resilent channel is a great start to soundproofing. However, no matter how many layers comprise the wall composition, any air gap or a seam will allow sound to spill into or out of the room. This would render all your hard work and labor null and void as well as waste your construction budget. It only takes a very small space to allow a large sound leak. Wall board and vinyl sound barrier are simple to seal correctly using an acoustical sound caulk. Be sure to apply sound sealant to all vertical and horizontal seams as well as the joints at the floor, ceiling and both inside and outside corners. Wall switches and electric outlets also pose a threat to sound leakage. more
