It accepts DisplayPort video at resolutions up to 3840×2160 @ 30 Hz with reduced blanking, and offers high performance scaling with multiple output rates up to 1920×1200, including HDTV 1080p/60 and 2K. The DSC DP-HD A features advanced Extron video signal processing with 1080i deinterlacing and Deep Color processing for optimal image quality. It includes many integrator-friendly features such as auto-memory presets, on-screen display, test patterns, EDID Minder, stereo audio de-embedding, and a DisplayPort input loop-through, while the compact enclosure simplifies installation. The DSC DP-HD A is ideal for interfacing high resolution DisplayPort signals into AV systems with an HDMI switching and distribution infrastructure.

EDID Minder automatically manages EDID communication between the source and display to ensure reliable operation. The DSC DP-HD A includes a buffered DisplayPort input loop-through that provides an output signal for a local monitor. Additional audio capabilities include selectable audio muting and output volume control. The DSC DP-HD A includes a convenient analog two channel audio output for sending de-embedded audio to a sound system or other audio destination. This output can be set for stereo or dual mono.

The HPA Tech Retreat takes place at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells, near Palm Springs, CA, from February 9th to the 13th, 2015.

Extron Now Shipping Single-Gang DTP Wallplate Transmitters for HDMI

Extron DTP T HWP 331 DExtron Electronics is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the DTP T HWP 231 D and DTP T HWP 331 D, single-gang Decora®-style transmitters for sending HDMI, audio, and bidirectional RS-232 and IR signals over a shielded CATx cable to Extron DTP-enabled products. DVIGear Launches DisplayPort Cables Supporting 4K / 60Hz

Expands Line of High Performance Copper Cables

Long distance transport of high resolution DisplayPort signals over copper cables must overcome several challenges, such as insertion loss, differential skew and jitter.  Insertion loss is caused by cable capacitance, which acts as a low-pass filter, blocking higher frequency signal components from passing.  Skew occurs when the differential DisplayPort signals get delayed and become out of phase as they pass over a long cable.  Both factors contribute to increased digital jitter, which degrades the performance of the cable.  This jitter becomes more severe with higher resolutions, higher bit rates and longer cable distances.  Conventional cables that support lower resolutions at short distances are often unable to support the data rates required by higher resolutions at longer distances.  The resulting video can be disrupted by visual artifacts or may not be visible at all.

To overcome these challenges, DVIGear’s HR™ Series DisplayPort Cables are constructed using heavy gauge 24AWG copper wires that provide superior ruggedness and durability.  The heavier wire gauge has increased cross-sectional cable area, as well as decreased capacitance and lower differential skew, which allows high speed signals to pass with minimal jitter.  These features enable cable lengths of up to 15 meters (~ 50 ft.) with full compliance with DisplayPort 1.2 signal parameters.

Stewart Audio Launches Low-Power Networked Amplifier Series

Compact, affordable Dante™-enabled amplifiers bring audio networking benefits to installations requiring lower channel counts for local amplification

SONORA, California, September 4, 2014 — The benefits of digital audio networking continue to extend past the mixing board and signal processing racks, bringing simpler connectivity, lighter infrastructure and improved flexibility and control to the amplification stage and beyond. However, most networked amplifiers today specialize in high channel counts for large installations, with amplifiers centralized in densely populated racks to serve global PA systems.

Stewart Audio today introduces a family of four low-wattage, networked amplifiers that address the need for lower channel count support at the local amplification stage. The new series brings the benefits of power-efficient digital audio networking to an underserved customer base, where consultants, systems integrators, dealers and end users require simple, affordable networked amplifier solutions scaled for smaller zones. This provides an affordable and reliable option to the larger, high-wattage amplifiers for high channel counts that permeate the market.

Importantly, the compact footprint of all four products enables simple installation at endpoints, providing networked amplification to smaller zones – whether for standalone needs in small-to-mid-sized installations; or to provide low-power amplification to smaller, distant zones in larger scale projects. Dual inputs in two models (AV25-2 NET+, CVA50-1 NET+) allow customers to serve both local and global PA systems if desired, with the option to target and prioritize pages and other audio events across many zones. This flexibility ensures that Stewart Audio customers can address larger facility needs while filling the void of local amplification requirements.

Compatibility with other Dante-enabled products is also ensured for a seamless, high-performance networking architecture across installations of any size.

Installations are further simplified with the presence of Symetrix Composer 2.0 software. Composer 2.0 software natively integrates device discovery and signal routing all four new products through its unique Dante third-party programming environment. This further reduces complexity for the installer, accelerating deployment times and creating a cohesive end-to-end Dante networking solution with local amplification.

The complete range of new Stewart Audio networked amplification solutions include:
• AV25-2 NET+: A 2x25W, 4 or 8 ohm low impedance amplifier with two analog and two Dante inputs, and remote and local volume control. Automated port switching can override audio feeds depending on which Dante or analog feed is set to priority.
AV25-2 NET: A digital-only version of the AV25-2 NET+ with two Dante inputs.
• CVA50-1 NET+: A 50W, 70/100V mono amplifier with one analog and one Dante input, remote and local volume control, and automated priority port switching to insert local audio feeds over main programs.
CVA50-1 NET: A digital-only version of the CVA50-1 NET+ with a single Dante input.

All four compact solutions can be pole mounted or attached to a flat surface near loudspeakers, and are plenum-rated to reduce the installation costs associated with rack-mounted systems. However, the 1/3RU design enables simple integration into central equipment racks if desired.
