HARMAN’s Studer Consoles and JBL Professional Loudspeakers Have Starring Role at 65th Annual Tony Awards

NEW YORK, New York – On Broadway’s biggest night, New York City’s Beacon Theatre lit up with celebrities and eager fans while hosting the top theatrical performers and acts of the year at the 65th Annual Tony Awards. Firehouse Productions of Red Hook, New York provided the live sound reinforcement and audio broadcast systems for the event, deploying HARMAN’s Studer Vista Series audio mixing consoles at the front of house position and in the monitor truck, and JBL Professional VERTEC® line arrays for the Theatre’s live PA system.

L-ACOUSTICS KARAi at Home in Jesus House

LONDON — SFL Group has carried out the first UK install of the L-ACOUSTICS KARAi modular WST line source system for permanent installation at Jesus House, a 2,000-capacity church in North London owned by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

SFL Group chose the system because, according to technical director Mark Payne, “It presents a significant saving for the customer as the boxes don’t have fixed touring rigging, which isn’t necessary in a fixed installation. As an installation product it looks really neat; I’m very pleased with it and so is the customer, it sounds absolutely phenomenal. more

Martin Audio OmniLine Solves Acoustical Problems For Third Presbyterian Church

Rochester, NY––Located near the prestigious Eastman School of Music, Rochester’s Third Presbyterian is a traditional church in the Gothic style which recently underwent a 10-month, $5.4 million renovation.

The AV Solutions team of Mickey Ames and Lead Tech Bryan Dowd, along with Consultant Tom Kostusiak who designed the sound system and acoustician Robert F. Mahoney, did the installation that included a completely upgraded sanctuary and new sound systems.

Challenges for the project included a modest budget, plus the existing acoustics that were very dry and lacked audible delay because of the square shape of the room and thickly carpeted floors. Plus the church doesn’t have a full time AV staff member, so the system had to run in unattended mix mode most of the time.

Founded in October of 1999 as a division of Nani Leo Inc., Rhema Services took delivery of its first V-DOSC and ARCS enclosures in January of 2000. Since then, the sound reinforcement company has grown its L-ACOUSTICS roster to include 24 V-DOSC, 12 dV-DOSC, 22 ARCS, 32 subs and 45 stage wedges in addition to its new LA-RAKs. more

L-ACOUSTICS Sells First KARA System to Slovenia

VRHNIKA, Slovenia — Akustika Bahun is pleased to announce that it has purchased the first L-ACOUSTICS KARA WST® line source system in Slovenia.

The system’s first job was a corporate event in Slovenia’s largest and most acoustically challenging arena, Ljubljana’s 15,000-seat Stožice, which has a nine second reverberation time when empty. The complete FOH/front-fill system consisted of 36 KARA cabinets configured 12 per side as left/right arrays plus 12 as a delay line, eight SB28 subwoofers in cardioid mode, two 108P and two 112P coaxials, and 12 115XT HiQ active stage monitors. All units were driven with LA8 amplified controllers. more
