Gordon College to Host NEXO Seminar

BUENA PARK, Calif.—Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc., in conjunction with Gordon College and its Chapel in Wenham, Massachusetts will host a NEXO seminar on Wednesday, July 27.

Yamaha and NEXO specialists will be demonstrating and explaining, in an “open house? format the GEO S-12 loudspeaker array, NS-1 Room Calculator Software, NXAmp 4×4 multi-channel, networkable Amp/Controller, RS15 Ray Sub, as well as the new 45N-12 Line Monitor.

The seminar, which is open to all audio professionals, will begin at 3:00 PM, presenting and listening until 8:00 PM. Light catering will be served.

Fox Performing Arts Center Upgrades Audio System With HARMAN’s JBL VERTEC® Line Arrays

BUENA PARK, Calif.—Fantabuloso ‘Dos’ 2011 took place in mid-May at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, and Gand Concert Sound (GCS) once again provided audio system support that included a NEXO GEO T tangent array rig. Artists appearing at the concert included Pitbull, Mike Posner, Lupe Fiasco, Taio Cruz, T-Pain, Jesse J, Far East Movement, David Gueta, and Tinie Tempah.

L-ACOUSTICS KIVA System Installed into Helsinki Music Centre

HELSINKI, Finland — L-ACOUSTICS’ Finnish distributor and system integrator Starlike has recently installed a KIVA line source system into the main hall of the new Helsinki Music Centre.

The primary users of the hall will be the Radio Symphony Orchestra (YLE/The Finnish Broadcasting Company), Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and Sibelius Academy. The 1700-seat hall is also in demand for other types of music; for example, the Finnish cello rock band Apocalyptica has been booked to play the venue when it opens later this year. more

HARMAN’s JBL VLA Line Arrays Deliver Powerful Performance in South Korea’s Daegu Stadium

Daegu Stadium in South Korea features a large-scale JBL VLA line array system.

ORLANDO, Florida – With a seating capacity of 66,000, Daegu Stadium is the largest stadium in South Korea. The stadium is striking in appearance, with a roof that combines design elements of traditional Korean houses with Teflon panels stretched across steel framing that provide protection from the elements while letting natural lighting into the stands.

Daegu Stadium has hosted major sporting events including the World Cup, and will be the site of the 2011 IAAF (International Association of Athletics Foundations) World Championships in Athletics. ORLANDO, Florida – Calvary Baptist Church was founded in New York City in 1847 as an independent Baptist church, and has been in its current location on Manhattan’s West 57th Street since 1931. Over the years, the church has undergone a series of renovations, and most recently completed a major upgrade to its audio system with the installation of HARMAN’s JBL VRX Series Constant Curvature, AE Series Compact and CBT loudspeakers.
