The Young Americans Give Back at Christmas and Then Some with Yamaha and NEXO

BUENA PARK, Calif.⎯The Young Americans teach music, dance and performance to young people throughout the world. The organization, founded in 1962, is a non-profit corporation and number more than 250 college age performers from nearly 40 states and seven countries with one agenda, to keep music alive in schools. Each fall, new cast members move to The Young Americans’ home in Southern California where they spend one year studying, training and performing in preparation for The Young Americans’ International Music Outreach tours. They attend college level classes in subjects such as Music Theory, Voice/Choral Techniques, Dance and Stage Craft. Daktronics Completes Major Install At Minor League Hockey Arena With JBL AE Series Loudspeakers

Daktronics recently completed an installation at the Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas, using 25 JBL AM4215/95 loudspeakers placed every 30 feet to deliver even sound throughout the bowl seating area. The sound system is powered by Crown CT1200 amplifiers and uses an assortment of Harman products in to reach into the Arena’s bar and lounge area.

KUDO/KIVA System Makes Sweet Music At New London Church

LONDON — SFL Group has installed an L-ACOUSTICS line source system into Dominion Church, based in a renovated 1930s Art Deco cinema in Wood Green, North London, using large-format KUDO and ultra-compact KIVA cabinets.

L-ACOUSTICS’ UK technical manager Jamie Gosney met Dominion Church’s technical manager, Eben Awuah, on hearing of the renovation project back in January. The church had been meeting in a room under the cinema’s balcony, which was already equipped with an L-ACOUSTICS coaxial system, and it was time to expand into the rest of the building. more

DANLEY STEPS UP TO THE PLATE AT TURNER FIELD

ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Poised for a future playoff berth with a hopeful mixture of youth and experience, the Atlanta Braves finished the 2009 season with a respectable record and much to look forward to. But for Turner Field, built originally for the 1996 Olympics and the club’s home ever since, 2009 marked the transition from possession of a dated sound system to possession of arguably the best system in major league baseball. Assailed by the elements, the old loudspeakers were showing signs of age, replaced by over four-hundred Danley loudspeakers with full weatherproofing, as well as customized rigging and coverage patterns to fit perfectly in the old speakers’ places.
