DPA Microphones Appoints GerrAudio to Lead Canadian Distribution

DPA Microphones is pleased to announce the appointment of GerrAudio as its Canadian distributor. GerrAudio is an established distributor of professional audio equipment for the live performance and broadcast industries across Canada. The company represents some of the industry’s leading wired and wireless intercom, digital mixing console, signal processing and audio test and measurement equipment brands.

“We are very fortunate to be chosen to represent DPA Microphones in Canada,” says Bob Snelgrove, President of GerrAudio. “The quality and performance of the company’s mics are consistent with GerrAudio’s long-standing philosophy of bringing unique audio solutions to the technical teams that support highly creative artists. DPA’s array of products perfectly complements our current collection of state-of-the-art audio equipment. Additionally, while the company’s reputation precedes GerrAudio, we know that many professional users are not fully aware of the flexibility and depth that is available across the product line. To that end, our primary goal will be to provide greatly expanded accessibility to the company through such means as product introductions, education and demonstrations, along with quick accessibility to products and technical support.”

This partnership with GerrAudio signals DPA Microphones’ continued commitment toward growth and customer service throughout North America. To ensure greater product availability for customers in Canada, GerrAudio will carry a full stock of DPA products at its head office in Brockville, Ontario.

“GerrAudio has an impressive reputation as one of the leading pro audio distributors in Canada,” says Niels Jørgen Øhrgaard, DPA Microphones’ Executive Vice President of Sales. “With a local Canadian distributor, we ensure better and more attentive service and support for our new and existing customers in the region. We’re excited about this new partnership and have high expectations for the opportunities it will bring.”

RF VENUE PARTNERS WITH REVOLABS® TO PROVIDE REMOTE ANTENNA EXTENSION SYSTEM

ASHLAND, MASSACHUSETTS – JUNE 2013: Under a new co-marketing agreement, RF Venue will offer Revolabs® dealers and installers its new directional Remote Antenna Extension System, designed for use with Revolabs’ Executive HD wireless microphone systems.

The wall mounted antenna features 9 dB of gain and a directional pattern, which improves RF signal level and coverage area for installed systems, giving system integrators and designers greater flexibility in locating wireless equipment racks and overcoming RF signal loss over coaxial cables. The Remote Antenna Extension System also features four high-quality coaxial cable leads terminated with N-type connectors and a high-quality eggshell white enclosure, which may be painted to match the color of any interior. The Antenna Extension System is also available bundled with plenum-rated low-loss coaxial cables in lengths of 25, 50, and 100 feet with custom lengths and cable types available.

“We are excited to be partnering with Revolabs to provide this important piece in the wireless signal chain,” commented RF Venue CEO Chris Regan. “The 1.9 GHz frequency band has numerous advantages, such as freedom from interference, but signal attenuation from walls, in between floors, and long coaxial cable runs can make locating equipment a challenge. Our Remote Antenna Extension system for Revolabs overcomes these issues and gives system designers and installers much greater flexibility to integrate the system with the client’s facility.”

“More and more system design consultants and integrators are locating audio/visual equipment racks in dedicated IT equipment rooms, which neatly consolidates a facility’s equipment but poses challenges for wireless signal distribution,” commented Revolabs CTO Tim Root. “The RF Venue Remote Antenna Extension System is a turnkey platform for Revolabs Executive HD products that will greatly facilitate integration and improve system performance in multi-room applications.”

The Remote Antenna Extension System is available directly from RF Venue and qualified dealers may apply at www.RFvenue.com and place orders with the company.

ABOUT RF VENUE RF Venue manufactures wireless audio equipment including remote antennas, RF distribution equipment, and cable assemblies. The UAE’s integrated telecom service provider – du, and leading international Multiscreen Solution Provider – Visual Unity, announced signing a strategic partnership agreement in order to extend service offering and experience to a wider broadcast industry customer base in the UAE.

This agreement will enable du to strengthen its position as the preferred provider of content delivery solutions for Middle East broadcasters by offering them end-to-end delivery solutions to execute their online strategy.

Under the terms of the agreement, du will resell Visual Unity services as part of an integrated solution together with its connectivity, satellite, playout and content delivery network (CDN) capabilities. du’s extensive experience and strength in satellite and CDN delivery, combined with Visual Unity’s vuMedia™ solution and experience in broadcast system integration, will ensure that du’s current and new broadcast customers can look to the telecom as a single provider offering an end-to-end content delivery platform. With Visual Unity’s Broadcast System Integration and Multiscreen Solution, du customers will now have further visibility and control of their end to end content delivery flow.

Farid Faraidooni, Chief Commercial officer, du, says: “Ever since we took ownership of the Samacom teleport in 2007, we have established ourselves as a market leader in satellite services. While we are emphasizing our position as a satellite service provider, we are undertaking several initiatives to address the complete set of functionalities required by our broadcast customers, by taking away the heavy lifting and investment to fit content to multiple devices. This will allow them to concentrate on their core business – content. Our partnership with Visual Unity is a proof of this commitment.”

Gabriel Dusil, Vice President Marketing and Corporate Strategy, Visual Unity, says: “Through this strategic partnership with du, we are able to extend our existing turnkey systems and solutions to a wider number of customers across the Middle East region. Visual Unity has over twenty years of experience in designing such systems, and we are confident that, with du’s infrastructure and connectivity, we will be able to grow together to better service the needs of broadcasters across the region.”

du is one of the largest satellite service providers in the region, currently serving over 270 channels and more than 60 broadcasters. Extending its scope to the digital realm, du successfully launched its Content Delivery Network (CDN) offering in 2011 and is today delivering Middle Eastern broadcasters’ content over the web through a secure cloud-based delivery network. The World Teleport Association’s (WTA) ranking of the Top Teleport Operators of 2012 has UAE-based du in the top 20 of its three listings. The WTA’s listing has du positioned at the 8th, 13th and 19th in the Top Twenty, Fast Twenty and Global Top Twenty categories respecitively.

The both companies will showcase their solutions at CABSAT, the biggest broadcast exhibition in the Middle East 12th – 14th March in Dubai, du – Hall 4 stand No.D4-10, Visual Unity – Hall 8 stand No.E8-22.

SIM Digital Acquires Master Key Post

Los Angeles, CA – SIM Digital announced today that it has acquired the finishing division of Master Key, a Los Angeles-based post-production house. The acquisition comes on the heel of last week’s announcement of the company’s name change from Sim Video to SIM Digital.

Known primarily as a camera rental house, the company made headlines when it acquired Bling Digital in 2009 to bolster its off-line editorial business and add file-based digital dailies to its range of services. Explained SIM Chief Strategy Officer, James Martin, “With both the Master Key and Bling Digital acquisitions, SIM places itself in a position where we can offer our clients a complete package of services, from the camera all the way to a color-corrected master for broadcast.”

As part of the deal, Master Key co-owner, Elan Dassani, will join SIM Digital as its new Vice-President of Bling Finishing Services. Also joining the SIM Digital team will be renowned colorist, Chris Jacobson as the company’s new Vice President of Creative Services.

“We looked hard at the existing post business models out there, and merging with a progressive company like SIM Digital made complete sense to us,” said Dassani. “Our clients can now work with a company that can handle all of its production and post production needs, resulting in greater cost incentives.”

That sentiment is echoed by John DeBoer, COO of SIM Digital: “With SIM Digital and our Bling Digital division, we currently supply camera, on-set data management, digital dailies [with a high-speed data-pipeline to remote editorial staff], Avid and FCP system rentals and now, with the acquisition of Master Key, conform and color-correction services – one company handling all the data from beginning to end,”

SIM Digital CEO, Rob Sim noted, “This is a very exciting time for our company. In August, our CTO, Chris Parker will move to our Los Angeles office to oversee and manage our post services division with Elan. I’m very proud of our company as it continues to re-invent itself to create better workflow models for our clients in a constantly changing digital environment.”

The new finishing division will be located at the company’s Los Angeles facility in Hollywood. SIM Digital will promote this recent acquisition at Cine Gear. SIM Digital will host an after-show party during Cine Gear, on June 2nd, at their Hollywood location.

About SIM Digital:

With offices across Canada, the USA and China, SIM Digital is a world class rental facility specializing in digital production equipment and workflow services.
