RTI’s RTiPanel App Now Available for Android(TM) Devices and Third-Generation Apple(R) iPad(R)

Customizable to Any Screen Size, App Provides Complete Control Over RTI’s XP Series Processors and Connected Devices With Full Two-Way Feedback

SHAKOPEE, Minn. — May 16, 2012 — Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI) today announced that the company’s award-winning RTiPanel app is now available for Android(TM) devices and the new Apple(R) iPad(R). Compatible with Android smartphones and tablets of any screen size, the app boasts unique features such as two-way feedback, a customizable user interface, and highly optimized connection speeds to provide complete control over any RTI control system with an XP series control processor.

Raising the bar for control apps, the RTiPanel stands out from the pack with unique features such as full two-way feedback including cover art, weather graphics, dynamic image lists, and much more for an unprecedented control experience. The app supports connection locally via Wi-Fi and offers remote access via auto-switching Wi-Fi and 3G/4G wireless — allowing for control and monitoring from virtually anywhere in the world.

Programmed through RTI’s award-winning Integration Designer(R) software, the RTiPanel app can easily match the resolution of any screen size, even the new iPad Retina(TM) display. New high-resolution graphics and a completely customizable graphical user interface allow integrators to provide consumers with a consistent user experience across all RTI controllers in their systems. This also allows integrators the ability to create a unique interface designed to set their devices apart. All graphics are conveniently stored on the XP series processor and automatically download to the tablet or smartphone device when updates are made.

Redefining ease of use, the app displays in both portrait and landscape views by simply rotating the device. The programming process for supporting both orientations has been carefully designed to minimize the extra effort required.

“Our RTiPanel app has been a huge hit since its release for Apple devices, and was named a CEDIA Best New Product in 2011. We are very excited to bring this advanced functionality to Android users, in addition to providing compatibility with the latest iPad,” said Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI. “By allowing control and monitoring both at home and away, the app provides a perfect complement to our control systems; one which our dealers can now offer to all of their customers.”

The RTiPanel app is available now for download from Google Play (formerly Android Market), the Apple App Store(SM), and coming soon to the Amazon App Store. Installers can purchase licenses online from the RTI website or from an RTI distribution partner to enable communication with their RTI control system.

METRIC HALO’S ULN-8 CENTERS SOLAR POWERED MOBILE RECORDING RIG

kj_kev_allaire.JPGVARIOUS LOCATIONS, NEW JERSEY – APRIL 2012: The video for Karmic Juggernaut’s new song, “Oo Wah Hoo,” documents the band’s inspiring and utterly fresh take on the recording process. Piloting a Subaru Outback topped with a plane of solar panels and freighted with a bank of batteries, the band toured its favorite locations in the great state of New Jersey to record each instrument in the glory of the outdoors. In the video, what you see – acoustic guitar on the beach, drums in the forest, wailing solo on the mountainside, and more – is what you actually hear. No lip-synching is afoot. In order to keep the power consumption low and the fidelity high, the project relied on the one-rack space, eight-channel, Metric Halo ULN-8 preamplifier/converter/interface for all studio functionality, save for microphones and a computer.

Designed for portable applications in harsh environments, the new Gepco® Brand TactiFlex™ Flexible Ruggedized Fiber Optic Cables are tough and lightweight, yet more flexible than standard ruggedized fiber cables on the market. Renton School District Selects IMT and Meraki for Wi-Fi Network

Nation’s First Campus-Wide 3-stream 802.11n Network

Pictured is Stosh Morency, Renton School District IT Director.

Renton School District in Washington state’s King County selected Integrated Media Technologies, Inc. (IMT) to implement Meraki’s MR24 cloud-controlled wireless access points to provide enterprise-class WiFi to all of Renton’s 16,000 students, faculty and staff.  Now equipped with the nation’s first campus-wide 3-stream 802.11n network, Renton School District has it installed at 29 sites, including elementary, middle, and high schools in and around the city of Renton.

“We want to put new technology in the hands of the students,” explained Stosh Morency, Renton’s IT Director.  “It’s a ‘bring your own device concept’ and by having the wireless network across all of our buildings, it opens the door for projects that were never an option before.  For us as a school district, we want to provide access to all of the students, regardless of where they are in the buildings.”

“This was one of our biggest projects,” remarked Garth Gilmour, IMT’s VP Professional Services. “The deployment makes Renton the first school district to adopt the latest generation of WiFi, featuring 3-stream, 900 Mbps performance.”  The award-winning Meraki Enterprise Cloud Controller centrally manages a total of 437 of Meraki’s high performance MR24 access points.

“New technology projects always have challenges,” added Morency, “but IMT and Meraki made it much easier to deal with.  The Meraki tools made it easier to troubleshoot problems and the IMT team was totally committed to the success of the project.”

“Through IMT’s thorough research and exacting implementation, Meraki allows me to manage the network across the entire district, and I’m a team of one,” said Todd Baker, Network Administrator for Renton School District. “The capabilities of Meraki’s Cloud Controller are considerable. There’s one dashboard for everything, from provisioning APs to troubleshooting client issues.”

The Meraki MR24, an ultra high-performing 3-stream 802.11n access point, is ideal for dense classroom environments and high-bandwidth applications.  Renton is deploying 437 access points, providing campus-wide coverage for its Computer on Wheels (COW) program, which provides classrooms with “COW carts” to stream video, data and other media.

With IMT’s help, Renton leveraged Meraki’s contract with the Washington Learning Source (WLS), which facilitates deployments for Washington state school districts. Prior to selecting Meraki, Stosh Morency and Todd Baker carefully evaluated a number of networking vendors, testing WiFi range, throughput, signal strength, and interference.

The ease of use and reliability of Meraki’s cloud controller impressed Baker. “I’ve had a controller go bad on me in the past.  With Meraki’s cloud controller, I’ll never have to deal with that again,” Baker said.  IT Director Stosh Morency added, “And the lifetime warranty of the products was a key factor in our decision making process.”

HARMAN’s Soundcraft® Announces ViSi iPad Remote Control for its Digital Console Range, With the Chance to Win an iPad!

FRANKFURT, Germany – Prolight & Sound 2012 marks the unveiling and preview of the new HARMAN Soundcraft® ViSi Remote iPad app, which enables a single iPad to control multiple consoles from the Soundcraft Vi Series™ and Soundcraft Si Compact range on one wireless network.

The Soundcraft ViSi Remote app allows users to roam around in a venue and not only adjust input channel levels and mutes, but also adjust aux send levels and matrix sends, and level and graphic EQ settings on bus outputs.

The app uses HARMAN’s HiQnet™ architecture to connect a network of consoles to a wireless router, which communicates with the iPad.

For even more flexibility, multiple iPads may be used on the same network, even on the same console, so that individual artists could control their own monitor sends, for example.

The Soundcraft ViSi remote is expected to hit the iTunes store at the end of April 2012, and by pre-registering on the Soundcraft website users will not only be informed immediately when the app goes live, but will be entered into a prize draw to win an Apple iPad. (conditions apply, see website for details: http://www.soundcraft.com/apps/visi-remote).

BUENA PARK, Calif.—Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. has announced a major update for the StageMix iPad App available for Yamaha M7CL and LS9 digital consoles. StageMix Version 3 enables even greater control and ease-of-use in live sound and sound reinforcement applications such as houses of worship and performing arts centers.
