Egyptian Radio And TV Union Integrates Studer OnAir 3000 and Vista 8 Consoles For Growing Broadcast Capabilities

In recent months the Egyptian Radio and TV Union (ERTU) has extended its long relationship with Studer digital consoles by placing a sequence of orders that bring a further 39 OnAir 3000 desks and a Vista 8 into the national broadcaster’s estate. As longtime and extensive users of Robert Juliat Profile spots, it could have been expected that the San Francisco Opera and Ballet would become the first US installation for Robert Juliat’s motorized Victor followspots with RJNET electronics.

“When the Opera was remodeled and seismically upgraded in 1996, we purchased 172 Profiles, then the Opera bought a few HMI Profiles and the Ballet added two more. The Victor followspots are our most recent purchase,? says Jim Caudle, technician for the San Francisco Ballet. “The building is shared by both companies which have consecutive seasons: the Opera runs May through December and the Ballet December through May. There are permanent followspot positions for both companies and the Victors remain in place for both seasons.? more

WASILLA, ALASKA: Every year, twenty of the churches in Wasilla, Alaska join together in the Wasilla Multi-Use Sports Complex for “One Lord Sunday.” The event highlights the vast common ground that the denominations share through a mixed-style service that draws on the strengths of the participating churches. One Lord Sunday brings together some 4,000 congregants, as well as dignitaries such as the Governor of Alaska. DALLAS, TEXAS – JUNE 2010: InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) recently converted their downtown Dallas, Texas Holiday Inn to a Crowne Plaza, and with the shift in brands came a dramatic increase in required meeting/celebration space. IHG undertook a massive renovation of the 23-story building and hired Rutherford Design of Northridge, California to design a sound system for the new lobby, plaza, mezzanine, and restaurant/bar. Company owner Richard Rutherford relied on an efficient combination of Symetrix and SymNet processors to deliver all of the complex functionality required of the system. He relied on programmable SymNet ARC wall panels to present that complex system to the hotel’s staff in a simple, intuitive manner. more
