Cruising over forbidding alpine terrain, the crew locates an injured mountain climber trapped in a crevasse atop a remote peak. The Blackhawk lowers a Navy diver, who straps the victim into a gurney. Then the two are hoisted aloft on a long, thin cable. Once aboard, the aircraft speeds off into the sunset, headed for the nearest hospital helipad. more

Nickelodeon Suites Resort in Orlando, a Nick-themed family hotel located a mile from Walt Disney World, proudly promises guests “the slime of their lives.” But things are never sticky when Drew Dalzell uses Stage Research SFX to control a slate of live Studio Nick productions offered in the resort’s 200-seat theater.

“SFX is the brains of everything,” he reports. “The resort has been running SFX 5.6 for about five years, and we’ve just upgraded to 6.2.” Three to seven Studio Nick shows are presented each day, including “Slime Time Live!” an interactive game show; “Who Knows Best?” a generational challenge between kids and adults; the “Dora and Diego Animal Jam” game-snack-dance party; “Family Improv,” a late-night show where almost anything goes; and the new “SpongeBob’s Krabby Patty Celebration.” more

For World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Production Designer Jason Robinson chose the ChamSys MagicQ 100 Pro lighting control console. Previously, Robinson had used two other consoles, but the MagicQ had the versatility and features he needed for the grueling pace of the WWE. The WWE tours year-round with live events in two cities per week, where they tape four hours and broadcast two hours of live TV. In addition, they do twelve arena shows for pay-per-view events and the massive annual WrestleMania stadium event. more
