Westbury National Awarded Systems Integration Contracts with Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick (DMNB) and CIBC

TORONTO – Westbury National Show Systems is pleased to announce being awarded two prestigious systems integration contracts to kick off a busy 2010.

The first is a multimillion dollar contract with Dalhousie University in Halifax to facilitate an innovative distance learning program that allows first and second year medical students to attend classes at the University of New Brunswick in Saint John (UNBSJ). UVLD Returns to Detroit for Hyundai Press Event at the 2010 North American International Auto Show

Despite the trials and tribulations of the past year, encouraging signs about the future of the automotive industry were to be found at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit’s Cobo Center where Unlimited Visibility Lighting Design (UVLD) participated in a Hyundai Motor America press event, January 11-12.

UVLD lighting designer and programmer Gregory Cohen and master electrician David Rees teamed with Nathan Murphy and James Rossi of Martin Brinkerhoff Associates on the event that marked the US debut of the Hyundai Blue-Will concept car. The revolutionary four-seat sedan serves as a test bed of new ideas that range from roof-mounted solar cells to drive-by-wire steering, lithium polymer batteries, and touchscreen controls and foreshadows future-focused hybrid production vehicles from Hyundai. more

Sadie In Record Mode For The ABC At The Falls Festival

SADiE equipment in the shape of the LRX2 location recorder and the PCM-H64 multi-channel recorder/editor has been at the forefront of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s recent recordings at The Falls Festival.

Held annually in two locations over the New Year period, The Falls Festival is one of Australia’s biggest music events and this year featured artists as diverse as Wolfmother, Seasick Steve, DJ Yoda, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Moby. Chris Thompson, Steven Schram, Dave Manton, and Richard Girvan travelled to Lorne in Victoria to record 24 bands in the ABC’s OB1 recording van, commissioned in late 2008. more

DANLEY SH-50s PROVIDE STUNNING PATTERN CONTROL AND ARTICULATION FOR ST. JOHN BAPTIST CHURCH

COLUMBIA, MARYLAND – FEBRUARY 2010: St. John Baptist Church (SJBC) in Columbia, Maryland recently completed construction of a wonderful new sanctuary on a recently-acquired forty-acre tract of land. The new building sits just over a mile from SJBC’s previous location and contains all of the amenities that the church has longed for in its nearly forty-year journey from start-up to establishment. Included in that wish list is a wonderfully articulated sound system centered on four Danley SH-50 full-range loudspeakers that evenly blanket the fan-shaped room without appreciably exciting the walls or ceiling. Neil Shade of Acoustical Design Collaborative designed the system, and Baltimore’s HP Electronics installed it, with oversight from Joe Schwartz.
