Florida Home Improvement Radio Show Builds Project Demo House from Ground up Featuring Hard Wired High Definition Entertainment System

ORLANDO, FL – Josh Smith, producer for the In the House Radio Show, set out to demonstrate his show’s home improvement expertise by demolishing an existing two bedroom cottage and building a replacement house. Essential to the project was the mandate that the main entertainment center be located in the living room, hard wired for 5.1 surround sound, with an eye level, wall mounted flat panel television and no visible wires for power, audio and video using the HDMI format.

“The garage is equipped with air conditioning, an insulated door, plenty of storage for tools, as well as refrigerator hookups and a painted sealed floor, making it the perfect mans-cave,? explained Smith. “The garage has also been hard wired for a wall mounted TV, so we needed a way to allow for dual viewing of HDTV in the living room and the garage.?

FAT POSSUM RECORDS GOES LIVE WITH THE SLIM SENNHEISER MKH 8040

bruce_watson.JPGOXFORD, MISSISSIPPI – AUGUST 2009: Fat Possum Records formed amongst the juke joints and shade trees surrounding Oxford, Mississippi in the early 1990s, and made local blues legends RL Burnside and Junior Kimbrough famous. Their fame synergistically raised the label’s profile and attracted other established and aspiring acts to its growing roster. Over the course of the ensuing decade, the older bluesmen passed on and the label shifted focus to indie rock acts like Andrew Bird, Fiery Furnaces, and The Black Keys. That evolution also involved the label’s recording space, which recently arrived at a pinnacle of poetic perfection: a gutted, 130-year old house with the grit of life still resonating in its frame. The two recording sessions so far completed there made abundant use of another recent acquisition: a pair of Sennheiser MKH 8040 cardioid studio condensers that, label manager and in-house producer, more

DK-Technologies Launches A Remote For Its Award Winning PT0760M HD/SD Multi-Channel Video Waveform Monitor

DK-Technologies will be attending this year’s IBC Convention with an exciting new addition to its award winning PT0760M HD/SD Multi-channel Video Waveform Monitor.

The PT0760-R is a remote unit that allows engineers to access the facilities of the PT0760M from an entirely different location. With this unit in place, an engineer on location can see exactly the same audio and video display as the engineer in the Master Control Room. Engineers using the remote can independently access all the facilities of the PT0760M without interrupting the use at the master location.

DK’s new remote offers the same high quality display as the PT0760M and gives users access to a set of soft keys that replicate those on the main unit. Both the PT0760M and the PT0760-R display can be independently controlled, allowing for either identical or individual display of video and/or audio signals at both locations.

Former Roxy Music member Brian Eno celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, by introducing the first of two live performances of his 1983 composition Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks in the IMAX Cinema at the Science Museum in London.

Mark Hornsby’s company Headtec were appointed by the Science Museum to provide the sound, and Icebreaker’s FOH sound engineer Alexander Bossew requisitioned a Soundcraft Vi6 digital console as his first choice.

“I specified this, because it is so easy to produce a warm sound without having to EQ like mad,? he said. “Also the few compressors that I used were working very discreetly.?

Bossew admits with only time for a quick run through ahead of the performance — rather than full rehearsal — there had been little time to purpose-configure the desk, which was plugged straight into the cinema PA. However, this hardly concerned him more
