Art instruction has been made easier for students at Massapequa High School on suburban Long Island, New York. Until recently, when Art Educator Vickie Ahearn needed to show her class close-up pictures of brush strokes or other fine artistic details, it required passing a book around the room or having students surround her desk to view illustrations. Now, however, a Canon REALiS X600 Multimedia Projector provides the class with large-screen displays of crisp XGA resolution images and all the 3500 ANSI lumen brightness necessary to view art illustrations without having to dim the lights. more

The renowned Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis has found two markets in the Twin Cities for its Robert Juliat Topaze and Manon followspots. The Theater not only uses a trio of Topazes and a pair of Manons for its own dramatic and musical productions but also lends them to the Minnesota Opera during its season.
âI have been a theatrical technician for 10 years and have used a wide variety of followspots at venues all over the country,â? notes Owen Moldow, lead electrician at the Guthrie. âWhen I started working at the Guthrie Theater in 2007 I got to use Robert Juliat Topaze and Manon for the first time, and I was floored. I’ve never seen a followspot so bright or that had such nice action. They are incredibly easy to use and maintain; I never thought that I would actually look forward to using a followspot!â? more

(WOODBURY, NY) – Lencore Acoustics Corp, a manufacturer of commercial sound masking systems announces the availability of its Music Page Interface, a radically different type of paging distribution system that will change the way audio and sound contractors design, install, and manage paging communication systems.
The Lencore Music Page Interface (MPI) replaces all the bulky head end equipment that is typically associated with music and paging systems. With the MPI there is no need for additional amplifiers, separate equalizers, special switching equipment or matching vendors for compatible product interfaces. In fact, the MPI technology is so sophisticated that it can make zone additions, modifications, deletions and other changes to the paging system on the fly and eliminates the need for running multiple home runs back to the electrical closet or through building risers to create separate or additional zones. more
