Hitachi Raises the Bar with Four New Ultra Short-Throw Projectors

Chula Vista, California, February 5, 2014 – Hitachi America, Ltd., Digital Media Division, Business Solutions Group today introduced its CP-AX2503, CP-AX3503, CP-AW2503 and CP-AW3003 Ultra Short Throw projectors – four high-performance models that are ideally suited for delivering large images in limited spaces. The new 3LCD projectors offer improved image quality, flexible connectivity including powered focus, and wireless networking plus a host of useful convenience features.

The CP-AX2503 and CP-AW2503 deliver 2,700 color and white light ouput with XGA and WXGA resolution, respectively, while the CP-AX3503 and CP-AW3003 offer 3,300 and 3,600 color and white light output with XGA and WXGA resolution, respectively. All four projectors include Hitachi’s High Dynamic Contrast Range feature that provides a unique ability to alter contrast when ambient light is present and yet preserve the integrity of the image. Additionally, Hitachi’s exclusive Accentualizer technology enhances sharpness, gloss and shadow detail for more realistic image quality while providing greater depth of field.

All four models can be used in tabletop mode, or wall mounted. All provide a full complement of inputs including two HDMI inputs, two computer HD-15 inputs, three USB inputs for use with a USB memory stick, wireless adapter or mouse plus component, composite video, audio and mic A/V jacks. All the projectors have computer monitor and audio outputs. In addition, all four models have RS-232C and RJ-45 Ethernet ports. An optional wireless adapter lets users connect their computer to the projectors via a wireless network. The projectors’ PC-less presentation feature enables users to project images directly from a USB thumb drive, eliminating the need to connect a computer.

All four models will be available in the spring of 2014.

Draper Introduces New Engineered Screen Technology

(Spiceland, Ind.) – In recent years projectors and projection technology have been advancing quickly. Draper is taking projection screen technology another step into the future at Integrated Systems Europe 2014 with the creation of TecVision Engineered Surface Technology. Available in five exclusive formulations to start, TecVision features white surfaces with gains ranging from 1.3 to 1.9 over remarkably wide viewing cones, and grey surfaces with excellent performance under higher room light levels.

HARMAN’s JBL Professional AW Series All-Weather Loudspeakers Receive EN54-24 Certification for Fire Detection and Alarm Systems

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands – HARMAN’s JBL Professional today announced that five of its AW Series all-weather loudspeakers have received EN54-24 certification. EN54-24 is the EU standard for loudspeakers intended for use in fire detection and fire alarm systems.

JBL’s EN54-24-certified AW Series models include the AW295, AW266, AW526, AW595, and AW566. All five lightweight, high-power 2-way loudspeakers are designed to deliver full-range sound with consistent pattern control and high intelligibility in a wide range of all-weather environments.

HARMAN’s JBL Professional Adds to Legendary PD Series Loudspeakers with PD6000 Series

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands – At ISE 2014, HARMAN’s JBL Professional is announcing a cost-effective addition to its hugely popular Precision Directivity Series product line. The PD6000 Series is designed for midsize to large venues requiring excellent pattern control, high output capability, configurable either individually or in array applications. The PD6000 models complement the larger PD700 mid-high systems with more compact size and greater affordability, while the PD6000’s higher SPL capability and larger waveguides supplement the midsize and compact AE Series systems. The PD6000 Series is ideal for stadiums, arenas, performing arts facilities, live theaters, auditoriums, houses of worship, and dance clubs.

The PD6000 Series consists of 14 models, which include four 3-way full-range systems, four 12-inch 2-way systems, four 2-way mid-high systems and two low-frequency models. Coverage patterns include the original 40 x 30, 60 x 40, and 90 x 50. With the introduction of the PD6000 Series, an additional coverage pattern of 60 x 60 is now available. New to the PD Series are injection-molded rotatable waveguides which allowed JBL to provide a more cost-effective loudspeaker lineup. The mid-frequency 24 x 24-inch PT™ (Progressive Transition) waveguides provide excellent pattern control along with low distortion and extremely natural sound character. In addition to the injection-molded waveguides and the new 60 x 60 coverage pattern, all compression drivers were upgraded to include JBL’s newest driver technologies, including the 2432H and 2453H. The PD6000 Series utilizes the CMCD-82H Cone Midrange Compression Driver (CMCD™). The CMCD-82H features JBL’s patented Differential Drive™ technology. All low-frequency drivers feature JBL VGC™ Vented Gap Cooling technology.

All models can operate into 8 ohm and 4 ohm loads and can be used with 70V and 100V distributed audio systems without the need for a separate transformer. Symetrix Partners with Attero Tech & Stewart Audio to Deliver Dante Ease

AMSTERDAM (NL) / ISE 2014 — (February 4 2014): In a significant development for users of Audinate’s Dante media networking technology, Symetrix has announced that the latest version of its popular SymNet Composer software will enable complete configuration of select Dante-enabled Symetrix, Attero Tech and Stewart Audio products.
 
Settings affecting I/O levels, routing and more will be defined with SymNet Composer 2.0, which gives customers the ability to consolidate operations on a single platform where three or more were previously required.
 
“As a result of the release, integrators will no longer need separate software packages for each manufacturer’s product as well as Dante Controller,” comments Trent Wagner, Senior Product Manager at Symetrix. “Supported Dante-enabled products will appear side-by-side with Symetrix SymNet products in the Composer software and can be managed or configured identically to Symetrix products. HARMAN’s Martin Professional Fixtures Shine For Saddleback Church’s Powerful, Music-Inspired Services and Global Broadcasts

LAKE FOREST, California — With a flourishing network of worship facilities across southern California, internationally and via webcasts, the Saddleback Church, with a congregation of tens of thousand around the world, has grown accustom to the bold sermons from Pastor Rick Warren in an exciting atmosphere. Highlighted by a wide variety of HARMAN’s Martin Professional lighting fixtures, the church has developed a type of service that’s evolved from a single preacher on a stage to an all-encompassing music and light show experience. Flashing lights, passion-filled songs and roaring applause breaks are the norm for Saddleback.

Saddleback’s main worship center, out of the six in the Lake Forest, CA campus, boasts six MAC Viper Profiles and 18 Auras along the stage. The main worship center seats 3,000 members per service, averaging more than 17,000 worshipers per weekend. The additional worship areas on the Lake Forest campus range from 50-600 capacity limits, offering different takes on the Church’s sermon for the day, whether a more traditional service, hard rock, or other genre, to keep parishioners entertained and engaged. Each of the remote campuses features a wide variety of Martin fixtures as well.

In-house lighting designer Alex Fuller has played a large part in the implementation of Martin lighting fixtures into Saddleback Church. “We’re here to provide an experience for the community, not just a stage for your average worship service,” stated Fuller. “The Vipers perform perfectly once they’re up in our venues, and the Auras are workhorses that we can rely on week after week, without worry.”

A routine day of service in the main worship venue transitions between the band performing five to six songs, regular and guest speakers and videos playing. Two 24×13-foot screens flank the stage for an enhanced visual experience.

Recently, Saddleback has added satellite campuses in Hong Kong, Buenos Aires, and Berlin. In addition to creating delightful, custom light shows for each sermon and concert, the church broadcasts each service live to its congregation around the world. “Our worship center has become more of a broadcast room, with thousands of people both participating live and watching abroad,” says Greg Baker, Global Technical Director, Saddleback Church. “Lighting is a huge part of broadcast and the Martin fixtures allow us to provide top-notch quality over our high-definition broadcast channel every day. Martin translates very well on air and that’s something our remote members appreciate.”
