Wyrestorm’s Modular MX-PP-POH Delivers a Totally Custom-Built HDBaseT Matrix Solution

With its completely customizable design, RS-232 routing capabilities, integrated Power over HDBaseT and near-limitless selection of input configurations, Wyrestorm’s MX-PP-POH is the company’s most flexible, scalable, fully featured HDBT matrix yet.

Memphis, TN – June 5, 2013Wyrestorm, a global manufacturer that specializes in the design and development of innovative HD distribution products, takes truly custom AV distribution to the next level and new price point with the introduction of the MX-PP-POH Pro Plus Matrix, a totally modular, built-to-order addition to Wyrestorm’s popular Pro-Plus line of HDBaseT™ matrices, that is compatible with all leading control systems. The MX-PP-POH (power over HDBaseT) provides commercial and custom residential system integrators with the utmost in switching and installation flexibility thanks to its choice of eight or 16 fully customizable expansion bays, RS-232 control signal routing, and Power over HDBaseT capabilities—all backed by an extensive nationwide dealer training program to start in August 2013.

Building on the HDBaseT foundation at the heart of Wyrestorm’s Pro-Plus line, the MX-PP-POH supplies HD video, high-resolution audio, RS-232 and IR, as well as low voltage power via a single Cat5e/6 cable (removing the need for power supplies for each display receiving device), making it more convenient than ever before for installers to deliver feature-rich multimedia distribution systems with rock-solid reliability, enhanced flexibility, and the utmost in scalability.

Starting with a clean, 8 module compact chassis that measures only two rack units high or a 16 module chassis at three rack units high, dealers will be able to take advantage of Wyrestorm’s new, intuitive online web widget to configure the MX-PP-POH with a near-limitless combination of both analog and digital transmission cards, custom-tailored for both residential and PRO AV applications. Wyrestorm provides design ideas and concepts so integrators can easily identify configurations to meet various applications – as a boardroom presentation switcher, enhanced HDBT splitter, or a full HD video and audio distribution solution for a large scale entertainment and commercial display systems.

Examples of the numerous modular transmission card configurations include:

• An HDMI input card with HDBT 70m output (with embedded RS232 transmission), a mirror HDMI output, IR transmission, and Power over HDBaseT —the perfect choice for use with AV receivers or activating a slave outputs by using a Wyrestorm extender product. This card provides 16 or 32 active outputs depending on chassis selection.

• A DVI input card, with HDBT 70m output (with embedded RS232 transmission), IR transmission, and Power over HDBaseT—ideal for professional AV applications that don’t require audio distribution.

• An analog audio input card with HDBT 70m output (with RS232 transmission), a mirror HDMI output, IR transmission, and Power over HDBaseT —perfect for adding audio-only devices such as iPod docks, audio zone players, and media servers to your AV distribution system removing the need to run duplicated digital/analog audio products

• A VGA plus stereo audio input card with, supporting resolutions from 640×480 up to WUXGA 1920×1200.

• And non-switching HDMI Pass Thru card with HDBT 70m output (with RS232 transmission), IR transmission, and Power over HDBaseT for use with cascading matrix devices making systems such as 16×32, 16×48. This card will also be used for HD to IP wireless streaming video preview function which is a feature within the new Enado user interface due for release later this year.

• A simultaneous SPDIF Optical Out/Stereo Audio Output card HDBT 70m output (with RS232 transmission), IR transmission, and Power over HDBaseT—designed to provide local AV receivers or traditional multi-room amplifiers with digital or analog audio.

Owing to the MX-PP-POH’s modular design, on-site changes or updates will be easier than ever before, and dealers will have the flexibility to craft truly custom matrices, in configurations as diverse as 3×8, 4×8, 6×8, 8×12, 6×14, 12×16, 10×32 or any permutation in between. Add Wyrestorm’s AMP-001-010 HDBaseT Amplifier for zone amplification and video output, and you have a self-contained, one-brand video and audio distribution solution with full HD capabilities, with EDID management, HDCP compliance and complete control of all connected devices.

All MX-PP-POH orders will be assembled to the custom specifications of dealers in US and EU, with local delivery within 10 days of order, with optional custom delivery timing. Pricing of each unit will be dependent upon the dealer’s custom specifications. In addition, Wyrestorm’s line of non POH Pro Plus matrices, MX0404-PP, MX0606-PP, MX0808-PP and MX0808-PP-AUD, will continue at a new lower price point which will open HDBaseT stability to all dealers & projects regardless of project size or budget.

Display Development Kicks Off Cool Promotion

Batavia, NY—June 2013—Display Development, originator of the Residential Architectural Video System category, has announced a special dealer promotion with the company’s proprietary Smart Cooling System. For a limited time only, dealers who order the avielo optix, optix 120 (3D), optix SuperWide 235, avielo kroma, avielo helios Studio Edition, helios or Display Development HD3 or HD4, are eligible to receive one Smart Cooling System at no charge. The promotion runs through June 30, 2013.

“It’s no secret that projectors require normal room temperature and proper ventilation for best performance and long-term reliability,” said Jim Burns, co-founder and president of Display Development. “The Display Development Smart Cooling System is custom engineered for each specific installation to provide a true architectural integration solution. By offering a safe and extremely reliable cooling system, our dealers avoid the most common reason for system failures and customer complaints, ultimately resulting in higher profits by spending less time addressing these issues.”

Display Development's Smart Cooling System

For specific program details, current dealers should contact their representative. Prospective dealers interested in learning more about Display Development’s architectural solutions should email the sales team directly: info@displaydevelopment.com.

Benefits of the Display Development Smart Cooling System (SCS)
• Thermal management is the most critical element of reliable projector installations.

• While most projectors are manufactured to be pole-mounted in free space, the SCS allows a true architectural solution with proper concealment.

• Each Display Development Smart Cooling System is engineered to connect directly to the exhaust to ensure the hot air is properly removed from the installation location and both the heat and noise are removed from the listening environment.

• Smart Cooling Systems are thermostatically controlled to maintain an operating
temperature of within 3 degrees of optimum.

• Smart Cooling Systems use large, overcapacity, in-line fans that rotate at lower speeds for whisper-quiet operation, and that can support long duct lengths to provide additional flexibility for unconventional projector placement.

Seymour-Screen Excellence Delivers Retractable Multi-Aspect Ratio A.T. Film Screen; Sets the Standard for Integration of a Reference Theater Screen into Non-Dedicated Rooms

Ames, IA – May 20, 2013 – Seymour-Screen Excellence is now shipping its multi-format retractable (MFR) film screen – a motorized dual-roller acoustically transparent film screen outfitted with a retractable masking system to perfectly frame different aspect ratios.

The foundation of the MFR is SSE’s exclusive Enlightor-4K woven-fabric acoustically transparent film screen surface. This .98 gain surface is both ISF-certified for color purity and is the only acoustically transparent screen that has no visible holes, weave, texture, or minimum seating distance.

The MFR is sold with either a lateral system (2 vertical masks) to display 16:9 while maintaining a constant image height on a 2.35 screen, or a horizontal system (1 mask) to display 2.35 while maintaining a constant image width on a 16:9 screen.

Either of the masking options descends and ascends via a second roller (hidden in the case). SSE specializes in woven-fabric acoustically transparent film screens; all of its masks are made of a black, lightweight acoustically transparent material.

According to SSE Managing Director Chris Seymour, the company is the only brand to trim its retractable models with a fabric velvet border. Employed is the company’s proprietary Infinite Black™ material which delivers substantially more light absorbing power than that of painted borders. The material also frames the screen image with a sharp, high-contrast edge.

Exclusive to all of SSE’s retractable designs is the company’s patented Uni-tab™ system which serves to hide most of the side tensioning cables behind the borders. This continuous tension system eliminates the unsightly hourglass shape common to tab-tensioned screens while providing a completely smooth projection surface.

”The Multi-Format Retractable perfectly achieves the same performance and multiple aspect ratio conveniences of our home theater-optimized Reference Fixed-Frame series,” says Seymour. “This is a win for homeowners that want to experience these same attributes in a non-dedicated room such as a living or multipurpose room, where the film screen can drop in front of a flat panel with the speaker locations no longer an issue, and completely disappear when not in use.”

The MFR case is made from extruded aluminum and finished in choice of black, white or custom colors; additional options include black velvet or glossy automotive coatings. The case measures 5.8-inches high x 5.5-inches deep and can accommodate either on-ceiling or on-wall mounting.

With quiet 120v European 4-wire motors and optional external control box, actuating the MFR screen can be accomplished with SSE’s wall switches, infrared (IR) receivers, Vdc triggers, radio frequency (RF) receivers, RS-232 or several other special order options.

The MFR is available in sizes ranging from 70- to 150-inches wide. The models are completely built in the US and ship within 3 weeks from order. For more information visit www.seymourscreenexcellence.com.

About Seymour-Screen Excellence
Founded as a joint venture by US-based Seymour AV and UK-based Screen Excellence, SSE combined the leadership and innovation of their acoustically transparent projection screen materials for high-end custom installers and specialty AV retailers in North and South America. Using the latest in materials and design from Patrice Congard, originator of the modern acoustically transparent screen, the company’s state-of-the-art screens provide flawless picture quality and acoustic transparency, superior to traditional perforated screens or other less exacting woven screen materials. www.seymourscreenexcellence.com
