Linear Unveils QUADStor NVR 400 Series

Easy to install and use, the network video recorders are part of Linear’s complete IP video solution for mid-sized business, residential and industrial applications. 

Carlsbad, CA – August 28, 2014 – Linear LLC, a leader in residential and commercial access control, health and wellness, home automation and security solutions, announced today that it has begun shipping the QUADStorNVR 400 Series Network Video Recorders, the cornerstone of Linear’s IP video ecosystem. The embedded-browser based NVRs are simple to install, cost-effective to manage and allow users to integrate, capture, and store video data, and then retrieve and view the video images remotely with the QUADView NVR mobile app or locally with a connected display monitor.  Built for speed and ease-of-use, this embedded NVR is a cost-effective choice for your video surveillance and security needs.

A consistent user interface between the native on-screen display from the NVR output and  remote browser make the QUADStor NVR 400’s setup and management simple and stress-free. Available with 2 to 8 terabytes of storage and support for up to 16 cameras, the NVR boasts easy-to-upgrade Audio/Video (AV) class Hard Disk Drives (HDD).

Streamlined for efficiency, QUADStor NVRs can be assigned a unique domain name (DDNS) to replace the IP address for easier mapping, with support for 2-, 3- and 5-megapixel IP cameras from Linear. The NVR can be programmed for motion detection or constant recording at different resolutions, and has a full1080p high-definition display output via HDMI or VGA. QUADStor NVRs conveniently support two independent networks, allowing IP cameras to be isolated on their own network to reduce bandwidth demands on the corporate LAN.

The QUADView app can be downloaded for free from the Apple® App StoreSM and Google Play store and also features: low-res or high-res video streaming (bandwidth- and processor-dependent), video playback control capability, PTZ camera controls (preset, cruise), plus still image and video clip downloading.

REELEX’s tangle-free technology is a patented method of winding wire and cable into a figure-eight coil. In optimizing each coil, factors such as gain, payout hole control and the density of the wind, along with progressive coil tension, are all instrumental to producing tangle-free packages. This unique coil can only be produced on a specially-designed and patented REELEX machine and accompanying customized software.

The REELEX II coil within the bulk wire carton does not rotate during payout, nor does any inertia take place. Void of any moving parts, the coil dispenses from the inside-out with a clear path and avoids the typical twists, tangles and snags that plague bulk wire cartons.

This new release adds mobile quoting capabilities that enable Commercial electronic system integrators to generate quotes natively on an iPad and then import the quotes into the full D-Tools SIX 2013 software platform for further project design and management. Delivering on D-Tools’ commitment to streamline product updates and enhancements by consolidating them into an annual release, this new companion app will immediately extend the highly functional D-Tools workflow to mobile sales and specification teams.

A native iOS application, the D-Tools Mobile Quote app leverages D-Tools’ extensive manufacturer product library by enabling integrators to access and integrate product category and package data from their SIX 2013 catalog while working with customers in the field. Integrators can enter client and contact information into the iPad app, then walk prospective customers through available installation scenarios in order to create a quote for approval. Once complete, the resulting quote can then be imported into SIX 2013 for additional design work and synchronization.

The Mobile Quote app uses many of D-Tools’ workflow concepts, including the specification of locations and systems, which allows integrators to provide packages or pre-configured systems for inclusion in the quote. Labor and general pricing will be calculated to give the customer an accurate proposal, which can then be signed off for approval on the spot.
