New Clear Series 2 HDMI Packaging from ICE Cable Systems Blends Retail Beauty with Custom AV Functionality

Los Angeles, CA – October 14, 2014 – ICE Cable logo_webICE Cable Systems, a leading manufacturer of premium low-voltage wire and cable products, has begun shipping its Clear Series 2 HDMI cables in smart new packaging that makes a great first impression and benefits the installation process (storing, jobsite and client presentation phases).

”Most wire and cable companies in the custom channel ship their HDMI cables in clear bags which are either heat-sealed or zip-locked,” says ICE Cable Systems President Brian Rizzo.

”Integrators prefer bags because they can easily be stored in a work truck where space is a premium. The problem is that they look like sandwich baggies; this doesn’t make for a great presentation to your client.”

”We set out to design a bag that has an upscale feel while offering enhanced functionality,” furthers Rizzo. “We landed on a re-sealable package that with its lush artwork and glossy-coating captures the premium look-and-feel that ICE Cable Systems is recognized for, while also incorporating hang-holes for an impressive presentation at retail.”

”From a functionality perspective, we incorporated a really tough plastic exterior that can take a beating and protect against water damage too. All these features combined make for a bag that exceeds the daily demands of the integrator,” concludes Rizzo.

The company’s Clear Series 2 HDMI cables in lengths from .5 to 30 meters are available in the new packaging at no additional up-charge.

FOR-A to Showcase Video Switcher, Multi Viewer & Video Transmission Technology at WFX 2014 Conference & Expo

Cypress, CA – FOR-A will exhibit at this week’s WFX Conference & Expo. The event is dedicated to showcasing technology for houses of worship and takes place October 1-2 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, TX. FOR-A will exhibit a number of its products used in the worship industry, including video switcher and multi viewer technology, in Booth #120.

The HVS-XT100 HD/SD portable video switcher is among the products that FOR-A will showcase in its booth. The HVS-XT100 features a compact, HVS-390HS_Image02integrated design and comes standard with eight HD/SD-SDI inputs and four outputs (plus one HDMI output). The unit HVS-390HS_Image02offers a wide range of functions, including frame synchronization, multi-viewer capability, a built-in Web server, and a clip memory feature within the still store that supports complex moves. First introduced last year, the switcher is a popular choice among houses of worship due to its high-performance and portability.

Another video switcher that FOR-A will show is its versatile HVS-390HS unit. The cost-effective switcher features advanced AUX technology that allow users to add in up to four additional mix effects, giving the switcher the capabilities of a 6 M/E unit. The HVS-390HS is the switcher of choice for many houses of worship across the country, including use by Manhattan’s Trinity Church, Florida’s First Baptist Church Oviedo, Flatirons Community Church in Colorado, Alabama’s Hunter Street Baptist Church, and Detroit’s Kensington Church, to name a few.

FOR-A will also showcase its MV-1620HSA 4K compatible multi viewer. First introduced at NAB earlier this year, the MV-1620HSA 3G/HD/SD/Analog Mixed High-Resolution multi viewer is a 1 RU unit that accepts up to 16 channels of signals for monitoring on up to two screens. The multi viewer includes the option to cascade it with other units to display up to 64 sources simultaneously.

As the exclusive North American dealer for Fujitsu, FOR-A will also demonstrate Fujitsu’s IP-920 high-performance encoder/decoder solutions. The video transmission technology uses H.264 advanced MPEG-4 AVC encoding to provide best-in-class video fidelity, is capable of operating at less than 99ms back-to-back latency, and features real-time transmission and robust error correction.

“Being that the house of worship industry is such an important area to FOR-A, we see WFX as one of our most important shows of the year,” said Jay Shinn, Vice President of FOR-A America. “This year we will be highlighting a few of our small to midsized video production switchers. These reliable and easy-to-operate units are packed with useful features and unique capabilities that make them the perfect fit for full-time professionals, weekend pros and volunteers alike. Our aim is to always be the leader in affordability and value for house of worship video technology.”

Danvers Community Access TV Purchases FOR-A Portable Video Switcher as Part of HD Overhaul

Cypress, CA – When Massachusetts’ Danvers Community Access Television (DCAT) recently upgraded its studio facility to high definition, the station did not take the task of ordering new equipment lightly. After extensive research, trade show attendance, and taking suggestions from peers, Dana Healy, the station’s executive director, found herself completely sold on FOR-A’s HVS-XT100 portable video switcher. DCAT began using the switcher in its new studio in June.

“I was adamant in wanting a classic studio switcher that could stand the test of time, and I became enthralled with the HVS-XT100,” said Healy. “It’s a simple, yet powerful unit. I’m confident that the switcher can handle the slews of middle-school aged children as well as beginner producers that will be using it here for years to come.”

DCAT is a 3,000-square foot non-profit television station overseen by Healy and three other employers. The station provides training and offers its facility for local programming production.

“In learning how to operate the unit, there has been a learning curve since the switcher offers so many options, but we are very happy with the workflow,” Healy explained. “Our FOR-A sales representative, Jay Shinn, was very helpful and demonstrated the equipment to us in an easy to understand way.”
Healy added, “One of the functions we’ve been taking advantage of often is the unit’s green screen feature, which are very powerful and create a nice, clean key.”

Introduced last year, the HVS-XT100 is one of the units in FOR-A’s XT switcher series, and offers a wide range of functions, including frame synchronization, multi-viewer capability, re-sizing engine, 2.5D wipe effects, DVE and keyer with chroma key. The HVS-XT100 comes standard with eight HD/SD-SDI inputs and four outputs (plus one HDMI output). A maximum of 14 inputs and six outputs or 12 inputs and eight outputs can be freely assigned, and three slots enable the addition of various inputs and outputs.
