Hi Tech Systems at NAB 2013, Booth N3733

Basingstoke, England – New at NAB 2013 from Hi Tech Systems is a further development to the unique and popular AViTA production control system that is deployed by broadcasters worldwide. AViTA is already in use for news play out, automation back up, studio production and scheduled record – and now Hi Tech offers multi-camera record and review.

This provides a clear and easy way to control up to sixteen record, or a mixture of record and play, server channels for studio production work. AViTA interfaces to any professional video server and easily integrates into production and post-production workflows. Scenes and takes can be captured with metadata and production notes directly associated with recordings. Review of all or selected recorded clips is carried out with one button press, and the system supports XML file transfers.

The core of the system is the AViTA engine that provides sophisticated video clip management tools with shared databases, multiple play lists and enhanced search facilities. AViTA can be supplied as a software only system and can be fully driven by a touch screen featuring gesture control of the various system applications. Alternatively, AViTA is supplied as a system of hardware consoles and mix-and-match control modules so that a panel can be constructed to suit the operational requirements of a particular workflow application.

The hardware panel has a large clear touch screen with gesture control that is used to manage play lists, server set ups, clip creation and management, database creation and searching and is used to configure the hardware modules with an extensive range of functionality and appearance choices.

The system is highly expandable and has several software extensions such as a MOS interface, multiple server port control from one panel, scheduled play and record, logging and highlights applications, tape archive and ingest, and automated play out from single or multiple ports
Tom Favell, managing director, said “AVITA takes Hi Tech’s control expertise right to the heart of production workflow, providing financial and operational benefits to our customers.”

Notes for editors: Hi Tech Systems is located in the UK and has produced a comprehensive range of VTR and video server controllers for over 14 years, its products are in daily use worldwide.

Shotoku To Pair Gemini Pan Bar Control System With Stagebox For Simplified For And Cost-Effective Remote Camera Control

Click Here to Visit Shotoku at NAB Booth # C9032 or Stagebox NAB Booth # SL11813

WORLD’S FIRST DEMONSTRATIONS TO BE HELD AT NAB 2013, BOOTH SL11813

Torrance, CA • Shotoku Broadcast Systems, a well-established leader in manual and robotic camera support and virtual reality tracking, will present the world’s first demonstrations of its Gemini Pan Bar Control System (PBCS) paired with Stagebox by BBC R&D – a powerful, standards-based solution for connecting video, audio and data between remote locations over standard networks. Demonstrations will be held in Stagebox Booth # SL11813.

In addition, an enhanced version of Shotoku’s popular TR-T touch control system and the SPI-Touch unique positional calibration method for Virtual Studios will be highlighted at the show.

Gemini Pan Bar Control System (PBCS) Meets Stagebox!
Shotoku’s revolutionary Gemini pan-bar controlled remote camera system will take a giant leap forward at NAB when it is demonstrated with Stagebox. Gemini offers easy, uncompromised operation for live events and other difficult-to-reach places where cameras are needed, but operators cannot go. When paired with Stagebox, the combined system allows remote control of multiple cameras over standard communication networks at live productions, such as sports events, resulting in tremendous flexibility and significant cost-savings.

Stagebox uses open standards to allow high definition multi-camera productions to link their equipment and move content in real time. The small but powerful Stagebox unit transforms all the audio, video, timing and remote control signals to and from a camera into packet-based IP networks to streamline field production logistics and workflows. Production teams can use low cost switches instead of traditional high-end SDI routers, and full camera operation, including robotics control data, can be achieved through a single Cat6 connection. Shotoku’s Gemini system, a perfect fit for this technology, provides remote camera operation, while maintaining the unique precision control and natural feel of a standard manual pan & tilt head.

TR-T Touch Control System
An enhanced version of Shotoku’s successful TR-T touch control system will be at NAB. TR-T meets the demands of larger, complex facility-wide installations as well as smaller systems. The flexible TR-T system enables any control system in any location to easily and rapidly re-configure control of cameras and studios in other physical locations. Automated functions allow precise control over shot recall, with minimal intervention, enabling an operator to truly multi-task, without losing any on-air flexibility.

SPI-Touch
SPI-Touch offers a totally new way of positional calibration for Virtual Studios. Simply designate two different points through SPI-Touch’s viewfinder and press the button at each of the points. The camera position will be instantly calibrated. SPI-Touch eliminates the need to mark the studio floor and move the pedestal making calibration easy and fast.
