See Omagica, the WATCHOUT Premium Partner in Mexico and Latin America on stand 71 at Tecnomultimedia-InfoComm 2012, Medellin, Colombia, November 8-9 2012.

Omagica supplies WATCHOUT to Big Video to discuss trade, economic, social and business issues affecting the Colombian Carribean region.

Dataton WATCHOUT™ multi-image and display software was supplied by WATCHOUT premium partner Omagica to Colombia-based multimedia experts Big Video to display content across three 7 by 5 meter screens at the Expogestión Caribe 2012.

Held in the industrial port city and municipality of Barranquilla in Northern Colombia, the annual event focuses on business development and prosperity of the Colombian Caribbean region, whereby the Chamber of Commerce of Barranquilla and the Center for Leadership and Management joined forces to be involved in the process of transformation that has been occurring in the region.
The event held in April 2012 brought together public and private leaders with world-class knowledge to contribute to the competitiveness of businesses in the region.

“Central to the workshop and presentations was the multi-screen display to communicate speakers notes and share knowledge,” says Diana Velilla at Big Video. “We’ve been working on this project for 2011 and 2012. The event brings world-class speakers to Colombia who require the best available video technology. Dataton WATCHOUT was used to combine content for display using Christie Digital projectors.”

Adela Kriland, Managing Director at Omagica adds, “Corporate events in Mexico and Latin America are becoming increasingly popular. For this event, Omagica were on hand to support Big Video with their production which produced some stunning results.”

And the last word goes to Fredrik Svahnberg, Marketing Director at Dataton who says: “Dataton WATCHOUT software is perfectly designed to manage high-resolution presentation data over multiple outputs. At the same time it can be updated in real-time during a live presentation, which of course would have been an obvious benefit to Big Video and their client.”

VUE Audiotechnik’s Demo Tour Crosses the U.S. and Back Again

Be among the first to hear VUE Audiotechnik’s complete family of professional loudspeakers when the company’s U.S. demo tour passes through a city near you.

San Diego, CA (Sept. 7, 2012) - Responding to increasing demand after a series of highly successful demos in August, VUE leadership today announced plans to expand the U.S. leg of their tour another eight weeks-hitting key demo sites throughout North America before expanding globally.

“This is very different from the typical loudspeaker demo in that we’re meeting with potential customers at their own facilities, and demonstrating our entire line,” explained VUE’s Executive Vice President, Jim Sides. “This format not only allows potential customers to audition our entire range, but it presents our team with an opportunity to better understand each customer’s unique business model. This is the type of personalized demo that I’ve always wanted to do, and we’re thrilled that people are responding so well to the format and to our products.”

The demo tour features a full complement of VUE Audiotechnik’s current offerings. Identified by VUE’s CEO Ken Berger as the “first wave”, the current lineup was revealed at the InfoComm show in Vegas last June. It includes three product classes encompassing a broad range of systems, from the most compact contractor offerings, to VUE’s flagship h-Class Active models. Berger reports that a “second wave” is scheduled to arrive before the end of the year, and that those new products will be incorporated into the tour at that time.

“The VUE speakers clearly appeal to a diverse customer base,” explained Steve Gorski of The SG Group, VUE Audiotechnik’s representative in the Southwest U.S., and an active participant in the first six stops of the tour. “From touring sound to AV integrators, the demos we’ve conducted have generated enthusiastic feedback across the board, and the resulting ‘word of mouth’ is fueling intense interest throughout the audio community. The momentum is definitely building, and I’m incredibly excited to be a part of it.”

The VUE team is conducting demos this week in Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina. From there, the demo tour moves to Florida and Georgia (Sept. 9-15), before heading north to New York and other northeast states. The tour will then turn west, booking additional stops throughout October.

Those interested in participating in the demo tour are encouraged to contact their local VUE Audiotechnik representative. Contact information, as well as an ever-growing list of tour stops, can be found online at: www.vueaudio.com/events/

HARMAN’s Soundcraft Continues Popular ‘Mixing with Professionals’ Seminars With Live Sound Engineer Dave Kay

NORTHRIDGE, California — Soundcraft’s ‘Mixing with Professionals’ series has become popular in the US and abroad with industry pros and newcomers alike, offering tips and tricks about using Soundcraft Vi Series consoles from some of live sound’s most experienced engineers. On August 21, Soundcraft continues the series at the HARMAN campus in Northridge, California with seminars hosted by internationally renowned front of house engineer Dave Kay.

Dave Kay is a hugely respected front of house engineer who has traveled the world mixing live sound in every imaginable variety of outdoor and indoor venue. He is a director at Liverpool, UK-based Adlib Audio and has mixed shows in the US, England, Australia, Japan and numerous locations around the globe, ranging from festivals with The Coral, Scissor Sisters, The Lightning Seeds and Scottish band Del Amitri.

Responding to feedback from attendees of the MwP USA program over the last year, this program will now be more focused on formal training, taught by a working engineer. Dave Kay will be hosting a hands-on tutorial with Vi consoles, with 2-3 guests per Vi console in a classroom atmosphere. Guests can expect to enjoy the stories and tales from Dave’s years of experience on the road, and also learn how to configure and mix a show using the Vi series of consoles. If guests bring their own USB stick, they can save their settings and take them on the road for their next gig or carry on working on their show settings using the Soundcraft Virtual Vi offline editor, available free on the Soundcraft website.

Kay knows his way around a Soundcraft Vi6 digital live sound console better than most—he road-tested prototypes of the console while it was in development.

“The Soundcraft Vi6 is user-friendly, without skimping on any essential features,” said Kay. “It has been designed with the engineer in mind to give as much visual feedback that you would take for granted on an analog console. With some digital consoles you have to scroll through layers of menus and screens. The Vi6’s interface does not slow you down, yet the snapshot feature is very comprehensive and enables you to go as deep as you want to go with it.”

The course will run from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm with lunch provided. The course is free to attend but registration is required and space is limited. Attendance is open to freelance or employed professional sound engineers. Details are available at http://usa.soundcraft.com/ and participants can register by sending an e-mail to Soundcraft-usa@harman.com
