Look Solutions‘ Viper NT DMX fog generator helped evoke the era of the great New England whaling ships for a WGBH Boston documentary from acclaimed director Ric Burns.

Phil Gauvin of Pyro/Fx Entertainment used the Viper NT for a four-day shoot at Mystic, Connecticut where the Charles Morgan, the world‘s last wooden whaler, is docked in the celebrated Mystic Seaport. “We had very little time to recreate smoke in a replica of the try-works, the brick-faced oven where whale blubber was boiled in pots,” he explains. “Despite some wind dispersing the smoke, the Viper was able to refill the area quickly. And we were able to match the look of footage we had from 1916.” (more…)

Fadi Serhan, the general manager of the company, has been an expert on the Lebanese broadcasting market for over twenty years, working as a broadcast engineer for ten years before founding Vatech Video & Audio in 1996. The company, which recently opened a new showroom in the centre of Beirut, maintains excellent contact with all the major Lebanese broadcasters, and now employs a staff of seven to handle sales, logistics, engineering and support.
