Fairlight Technology Helps RTBF Win A Prestigious IBC Award

A workflow solution designed by Fairlight’s French business partner EuroMedia Technologies played an integral part in helping RTBF, the national broadcaster for the French-speaking areas of Belgium, win a coveted IBC Award for Innovation at the recent 2009 IBC Convention.

EuroMedia Technologies’ AV-Process 3.0 CCE (Crystal Core edition) software was developed to work with all Fairlight products running Fairlight’s latest CC-1 engine. This new media management software was installed at RTBF last year, along with a number of new Fairlight workstations. It is now handling all audio and video files, including Avid and EVS input and outputs, enabling RTBF to automate its entire production workflow. (more…)

Recent projects for two high-profile professional golf events fit Scharff Weisberg Lighting to a “tee.”

Working for Momentum Worldwide, Scharff Weisberg first supported the USGA Championship Experience Learning Tent at the US Open 2009 on the Black Course at Bethpage State Park, Farmingdale, New York. Later this summer they recreated the Learning Tent at the 91st PGA Championship at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota where a second hospitality tent for corporate VIPs was added. Scharff Weisberg (SW) supplied all the lighting and A/V equipment for the venues. (more…)

Christ Memorial Church Raises Up L-ACOUSTICS Coaxials

HOLLAND, Michigan – September 2009 — What is a church to do when the economy spirals into recession halfway through raising funds for a much-needed new PA system? In the case of Holland, Michigan-based Christ Memorial Church (CMC), the answer was to install a cost-effective coaxial solution from L-ACOUSTICS.

Early last year, CMC initially commissioned Parkway Electric and Communications to design a discrete loudspeaker setup to provide sound reinforcement for its 180-voice choir and orchestra, both of which perform from the far left side of the sanctuary. After evaluating at a number of systems, Parkway specified a compact LA4-powered system comprised of four KIVA elements arrayed beneath a KILO low-frequency extension cabinet, with two additional KIVA down-firing behind the array to provide monitoring for the choir. Immanuel Baptist Church Chooses Broadcast Pix to Answer a Variety of Production Prayers

(Billerica, Massachusetts) September 22, 2009. Immanuel Baptist Church in Lexington, KY., broadcasts its Sunday service to thousands of households live on WLEX-TV, the local NBC affiliate. In June, the church installed a Broadcast Pix™ Slate™ 5000 integrated production system to ensure the program looks as polished as possible.

As director of I-Tech ministries at the church, David Probus oversees broadcast, audio, video and lighting for the Immanuel campus, and serves as executive producer of the live television broadcast. He said the church purchased the Slate 5000 in a bit of an emergency situation. One Sunday, the old analog switcher they had been using for the past 15 years locked up on them – while they were on the air.
