Haivision HD Streaming
We had a glimpse of Haivision’s Viper at NAB in April, but now the all-in-one H.264 HD streaming appliance is in full-on demo mode at Infocomm #IC4747. Executive VP Peter Maag walks through the product’s ability to capture, stream, review, distribute and publish multistream HD and computer graphics content in an ultra-compact integrated appliance. Haivision has a track record with these kind of self-broadcasting, web-publishing applications through their respected Makito encoding technology–which enables the capture and streaming of two synchronous channels of HD. The Viper can be configured in various ways as a stand-alone IP video server system, or in conjunction with Haivision’s popular Furnace, or simply as a device on the network. I like that it’s fanless.
