InfoComm’s series of educational and training programs are already underway, but for the thousands of attendees registered for this year’s InfoComm, the excitement is just starting. On Monday afternoon, the show floor was still under construction, but it was beginning to show the early signs of another successful year, with the industry’s audio manufacturer’s lining their booths with their latest products.
A must-see on this year’s floor is Peavey’s Professor Peavey’s Amazing Audio Torture Tests, which invites audience members to sabotage Peavey products to see how well the systems can work in worst-case scenarios, including fires, smoke, cut cables, and compromised equipment. Thirty-minute sessions will be held throughout the convention at the Peavey booth #C10129.
Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Leon Speakers (booth #N1321), know for its high-quality installed loudspeaker systems, will also return to InfoComm again this year, bringing its newest line of products to the show floor, including the Horizon OTO powered soundbar and Boundary series outdoor speakers.
Also back for another year are the popular audio demo rooms, where manufacturers showcase the power and clarity of their sound systems in enclosed areas, with detailed presentations of their latest products. Among this year’s featured companies in the audio demos rooms are Renkus-Heinz (#N113), RCF USA (#N120), Martin Audio (#N112), and Harman (#N101).
Danley Sound Labs will showcase its new line of SBH (Skinny Big Horn) series of compact, column speakers, as well as the OS series of fully weatherized outdoor loudspeakers at both its booth (#C11711) and demo room (#N108).
The official convention will kick off Tuesday, with a keynote address by Mike Walsh, CEO of Tomorrow and author of “FUTUREAINMENT,” who will discuss the future direction of the AV industry. Walsh is an avid traveler, observing the best ideas that help progress emerging technologies, consumer behavior, and growing markets within the AV industry. The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the LVH Paradise Event Center South room. An opening reception will follow in the LHV Paradise Event Center South room starting at 5:30 p.m. Both events are free with registration.
