While the show floor for InfoComm14 doesn’t open until Wednesday, the audio department’s demo rooms are already in full blast—literally. Open a day early, 16 audio manufacturers open the doors to their customized demo rooms, where they give detailed presentations of their latest products, along with a demonstration of the sound these products produce.
Each company gives a demo every other hour (most likely to avoid bleed between the rooms), and walking down the hallway you can surely hear (and feel) the power of these sound systems.
Over at the TC Group Demo Room (N111), the buzz was centered around two new products for this show: Tannoy’s CMS 3.0 ceiling monitor systems–specifically the CMS 503DC, 603DC, and 803DC–and Lab.gruppen’s D-Series amplifiers.
The new Lab.gruppen D-Series was designed after the success of the PLM series in larger installations at sport stadiums, and motivated the company to develop a series specifically for installed sound. The result, the D-Series amplifiers, is already going into new arenas including the new San Francisco 49ers Stadium in California.
Community Professional Loudspeakers also has a line of ceiling speakers, ideal for athletic venues, sports clubs, house of worship, convention centers, ballrooms, and more. The D-Series ceiling-mount loudspeakers include seven models, and are designed to evenly distribute sound at these venues to create a high quality of reproduced sound. The company also has a line of commercial speakers, called the Commercial Design Series, which includes a variety of speakers that are mountable in the ceiling, on surfaces, or a mix of both, to project the sound evenly.
Over at Renkus-Heinz (N113), the company is demoing its Varia, Iconyx, and IC loudspeaker systems. Designed to use in installations like theaters, house of worship, bars, and other medium-sized venues.
The audio demo rooms will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily for the remainder of the conference.
