Meet Phillip Cordell, alter ego: HiPhi. By day, he’s an AV integrator at Multimedia Masters in Nashville, Tenn. By night, he’s a techno rapping phenom with his own record label, HiPhidelity, and a video producer in conjunction with the production company I Love Betty.

Rapping for almost 12 years (it’s in his blood, he tells me), Cordell is best known within the industry for his rap “A/V Professional, which is approaching 9,000 views on YouTube. Standing in a warehouse full of Crestron, Extron, and Pesa boxes, he raps his day job and the wonders and frustrations of wielding the BNC crimper, waiting “a whole week for the PC to boot, and catching up on his CTS.

“Signal ran through it/The man he can do it/Trying to hide wires as I grab the Panduit/If and only if and I cannot fish the wall/I’m sorry, I was on a ladder when I missed your call.
