Touch IR+ is a new app that turns your iPhone or iPod Touch into a customizable universal remote control. Interacting with a Windows computer and an infrared receiver/transmitter device, the Touch IR+ allows you to control your AV equipment as well as processes and applications on your PC directly from your iPhone/iPod.
Touch IR+ allows you to customize the app by adding your own buttons, backgrounds and other graphics, and companion software gives you control over your screen’s layout, including buttons, links, labels and hotspots. The device uses network-attached IR rather than line-of-sight, so you can control any AV equipment throughout your home or studio.
Currently the Touch IR computer software (Touch IR Server) runs on Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, or Windows Server 2003/Windows Home Server. For IR communications, Touch IR Server natively supports the USB-UIRT device for learning and transmitting remote control command signals. The app is now available from the App Store for $4.99.
