Entering Net-centric AV Era

In Randal Lemke’s latest InfoComm Executive Update [1], he waxes on the changing eras of AV, claiming the industry is now in the Net-centric AV Era. Who couldn’t disagree when he rightly pointed out as products have reached probably the limitless potential with IP connectivity? As we went to press with our November issue, my editor and I discussed what I thought was probably the most controversial part of the piece: “I believe the long-predicted convergence has been completed. The final legs of that journey are in front of us, while customer change is not so far along.”
